It was in Long Canyon in Moab. @doseman 40 was on point all week. Climbed everything and he drove it from the hotel every day out to the trails.
I’ve been in Long Canyon but I don’t remember the giant rock that goes over the road. I’ll have to go check the area out again

Great thread! It has reminded me to google maps look up the one I saw recently to see if it's there.

I'm the kind of guy that when I'm driving, I have my head on a swivel looking around for older cars. If your garage is open and I'm driving by, I'm taking a look! 😅

That being said, it had been a full year since I had seen a 40 in the wild. A few weeks ago, I was about 2 hours from home in an area I had not been to in a decade (Convington for the WA folks) and spotted a green one sitting in someone's yard. Early 70s I think. And there was another one all torn apart under a tarp.

I typically only see 2 maybe 3 per year cruising around. Many times it's the same one.

The wife and I were in Guatemala earlier this year. Spotted this guy driving around Antiqua. Snapped some photos after he parked.

Couldn't help notice Mark's comment about "wild asphalt" sightings. So this is wild cobblestone...

Took it fishing today.

Is there any interest in starting a thread to share 40 series spotted out on the road?

Every now and then, you catch one. Out on the dirt or rattling down some two-lane highway. A 40 series. Not on a trailer. Not behind glass or rusting away out in a field, but out doing what it was built to do. If you happen to see one out there under it’s own power, let’s see it and hear about the journey!

Bonus points if you spot one through the bug-splattered windshield of your own Cruiser (be safe!).

This thread is inspired by other threads as a compliment to them.
l know of 1 other 40 series (45) its sitting in bits on the guys drive..you all know the resto in progress.. so far his is about 3yrs maybe more...mine is mobile & ongoing.. like others the ute creates mostly smiles, the odd picture taken and some convo's.. My ute does what it was meant to do.... Blues Brothers Theme From Rawhide - https://ok.ru/video/34282277496

There’s quite a bit of wild asphalt in this thread!😛
Anybody can take a 40 on an old dirt trail… DDing in the concrete jungle takes real cojones! 😜

Are you angling for a government job as a spin doctor? Asking for a friend recruiting officer!😝
