would these old school steelies have any backspacing issue on a fj62? i want to run the 33 x 10.5 on mine with this set up.
Thats the same wheel/tire combo I ran before having them widened with no problems.

Finally...lol.

I could be wrong but I thought the 80s axels are 5" wider or there about? And they are the same front and rear width. The 60 has narrower rear track than front. But please correct me if I am wrong.

I have no idea...jus know im hvn it done lol. I wldnt mind me rear tire out a bit tho...2.5" on both sides i think be perfect

I used FJ cruiser (2007-2014) steel rims from Japan. They are 17 x 7.5. They do require a 1.25” spacer which I got from Spydertrax. I got the FJ40 ones as they don’t technically list an FJ60. But the FJ40’s work same size. The tire I went with is a 255/80/17 which is a 33.2 x 10 size. I am really happy with the look and the setup. I think the spacers bring the tire out flush with the body instead of inset. I have an OME medium lift.

I chose 195 70 17 on the same wheels. Same size but 11" wide. I think your size looks better. I also get a little rubbing in the front when stuffed

I'm looking through the thread again and I did not notice where you mentioned the brand of wheel or the specific model or part number of the wheel in in teh pics...mind sharing the details. I presume the wheels work both front and back with no rubbing or interference with the caliper or steering linkage..etc?

sorry about the late reply. These are Toyota wheels and lug nuts, oem size. The factory sent these to the US with chrome instead of white paint. the bfgs are 15 inch, the same size tire from the factory (but Toyota didn't install bfgs from the factory). Part number 42601-35260-05. Again these are Toyota wheels, Mr. Onur referenced these on page 9 on this thread. I bought these probably 4 years ago from a Toyota dealership I believe in Dallas and they told me then that these were the last ones in the US, so I bought his last 5 for over 200 dollars each. I am slowly bringing my 87 back to factory with as many oem parts as I can and it is a lot of very satisfying work; including replacing the rear cross member the PO removed, (there are reasons the engineers decided to put the rear cross members on!!)

@aer0397 find you a set of these

Well, with price of steel going through the roof, I decided I better not wait any longer to order my custom set of steel wheels.

I >almost< got a set of TRD Pro wheels and looked hard at the 70 series steel wheels, but I just really prefer the old school look. I wanted the bare bones look of the stock FJ40 steelies, but I didn’t want to run spacers, or be limited on tires by wheel width, AND wanted to run a 17” wheel to leave room for future brake upgrades. I also prefer a little wider stance.

Enter custom wheels from Wheelsmith. They aren’t cheap, especially now, but I have a set of five 17x8 “2 piece” OEM style wheels with 3.5” backspacing powdercoated in battleship gray headed my way. They’ll be here in a couple weeks, where they’ll patiently wait for spa day at Tandem Offroad in mid February. I plan to run Toyo AT-IIIs in the 285/75/17 flavor.

What's the Back Spacing on those?

And when they say '2-piece' they will sell you 5 wheels, made to order

What's the cost for 5 wheels, (without the Power Coat) if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks!

@Drofen

@Drofen

I got them in 3.5” of back spacing, (I should add that to my previous post,) but they are custom made, so you can specify whatever backspacing you want.

They are $296 a wheel. Spendy, but they are exactly what I want.

ETA: “two piece” is just the style. You order per wheel. So yes, I ordered a set of 5.

@Drofen Did you happen to check Stockton wheels price vs these? I have heard mostly of people sending their wheels to stockton to get them customized so maybe that is the difference? Maybe they sell new made to order as well? Just curious as I have thought about contacting them.
Thanks
Those look like they are gonna be NICE!
