Greetings everyone,

Can anyone provide measurement guidance for wheel backspacing on a pig with FJ60 axels? The wheels we want to purchase come in 16" with 4.25" of BS and 17" with 4.75" of BS.

Avoiding wheel-to-body and frame contact is preferable. ;)

Thanks!

You want it to tuck the wheels under the fenders or not?
Of course not!

That’s not really a hang up for myself, but if you’re wanting to be sure your wheels are tucked under the fender wells, why install 60 axles? Park brake??
Beyond that, @nvrlose54 has already shown 60 axles with 60 series wheels hug in under the fender wells - about as good as it’s gonna get.

Most of us shoot for a 3.5" back space with the stock 55 axels, the 60 axles are 3" wider so I would look at those 17" wheels with the 4.75" back space to be just about perfect for what you are asking.

Good luck and post pictures when you get the new wheels installed.

Thanks for the feedback, gents. They don't have to be completely tucked, just looking for a balance between a wider stance and not being able to see out the windows, etc.

I would prefer a slightly wider stance as we are adding around 400 lbs to the roof and over 1,000 lbs to the vehicle. I also like the higher spline count.

It seems like there are more off-road tire options for the 17" wheel, so that is probably the direction we are heading.

Your suggestions are wise.....even at 6 o'clock in the morning. Thanks fellas!

A pic from Christmas and one from this past weekend at a local car show. 60 axles set perfect in my opinion.
