My wife hooked me up with my 40 too.....I'll owe her the rest of my life......Let your girlfriend read this thread.....

That will go for 15+ on EBAY.

But please, after all your hard work, don't sell it.
As you can see, you prob shouldnt have mentioned the gf part of your story...

Yup had a 83 bj42 5 speed power steering , new girl friend in 92 said its to small got a suburban.Dont have the 42 ,suburban or the woman anymore, you can guess which one i should have kept.Did save the 78 Lowrider my boat , guns and get to build 40s so life is good .Its just women arent at times

Keep the cruiser. When GF moves in, charge her rent so you will have $$ to buy more junk for your sweet 40.

keep the cruiser ...

keep the gf, and when she becomes the wife, take her on few trip with it, she will fall in love with it. mine did.

show her the places you can go in it. get her to fall in love with the rig. thats what i did and mine was a rust bucket at the time. now all i hear from her is "when is it going to be up and running again, when can we go to the beach, when can i drive" that is a beautiful 40, make it your daily driver if you have to. anything to keep it.

I guess Iam lucky I have one wife and 6 Landcruisers, guess I have room for 5 more wives

Oh, got so upset forgot to ad, paid 11,586 for the 42 in 83 ,worth more than twice that now.The girlfreind (common law wife, cause thats what happens) cost 500,000 plus and counting.Yours could get the 25000 mark, more 15000 range thou.

I agree with most above. Keep the truck.

I guess the real question here is WHY would you have to sell it if she moves in?

As for the question asked: I'm not going to throw out an arbitrary number, but.... it's worth more to you with all the hard work than what anyone would pay.

why the hell do you have to sell it???? unless you have a good reason.....:ban: and "GF can do what the 40 cant" lame!!! If she gave you any ultimatum or anything like that... she should be gone.... you need to sit down and figure out which head you should be thinkin with.... :D

You may not ever get into a 40 that nice again, at least not without breaking the bank... again.

Compromise, somewhere, somehow....

I've never regretted getting rid of a girlfriend. I guarantee the first time she pisses you off you'll go out to the garage and stare at the big empty spot that used to be occupied by a sweet landcruiser and cry. You'll then blame her for your unhappiness and it won't be long before she's an unpleasant memory.
I had a woman ask me to get rid of my Australian Sheperd years ago, said she couldn't watch him when I was off flying. I sure do miss that dog, the woman not at all.
My wife found my landcruiser and called all excited, saying she'd put a deposit on it until I could come and look at it. That's the kind of woman you need.

What's the LC worth? More than you'll ever know.

I cannot believe your in Asheville and I have not heard about you or your cruiser.

Don't sell it. If anything bring it out to the meeting at the end of the month pretty sure it's going to be in Asheville and let a dozen or so cruiser heads look at it and give you their opinion. You never know you might sell it to one of them and at least it would stay local.

That being said selling that cruiser will be the worst mistake you will ever make. I have never lived down selling mine.

Ironic that these two cruisers are only 45 min away from you.

Add another couple.

And then there is one more that is probably 5 min away from you. Same color and all of them are as good or better condition. You ought to come out to a meeting sometime.

My wife (gf at the time) found my 7th cruiser for me.....I fixed it up, sold it and bought her a ring...she cried on both counts. She still loves cruisers (and the ring) and actually found my last one come to think of it.hmmm.

My take on it is, if you love cruisers and the gf doesnt, ditch her a$$ man. A cruiser like yours is like a good woman, they are few and far between; and you hate it when they are not in your life..... Sorry, went a little to the fem side there...

man your getting rid of half of what you own and your not getting divorced.drive that around or to the beach with the top off and you wont need your girlfriend others will follow good luck
