all my switches are from OTRATTW. 3 out of 3 switches i've bought from them have broken. i will run OEM switches from now on.

I can't afford that luxury. I will just have to keep replacing $10 dollar switches as needed. OEM prices are too rich for my blood. I have cheap lights, snorkel, and suspension too so I don't mind the econo switches. To each bank account their own.

Jonas, You have the nicest cheap ass rig I know of. Actually its a lot nicer than many rigs that have not "Cheaped " out on.

that sucks, ive never actually bought any OEM switches so i didn't know they were pricey. your switches look different than mine though, so hopefully you got the upgraded version. the problem i had with mine is the front piece of the switch breaking off. they replaced them twice, but when my last one broke i fixed it with gorilla glue.

If they are carling switches, I'm pretty sure that you can change the tops to the different shapes.

have you tried to source used ? I've had good experience with that pricewise for our 80 and the 40

yup, plenty of faces available cheap for rocker switches

Claudia, I have never looked for switches for an FJC but aside from the usual pull offs like bumper wings, roof racks, skid plate, etc. I have not had much luck with used OEM parts. I have checked around with several salvage yards in the NOLA area and could not find anyone who had an FJC, but admittedly I have not done alot of internet research on them. I would think the factory light switch would be a hot ticket item and you would have to find yourself in one of those right place, right time scenarios.

Eric, those links and mounts look great!

Thanks Kevin, I think:hhmm:.

Jason, I was under the impression that the OEM switches cost somewhere in the area of $60 a pop if not more but I am operating under hearsay and not fact.

Brian, that sucks about the fender bulges. Did you have any luck with Toyota on that issue? You have the only FJC that I have actually seen this happen to in person. I have read about it on the forum but never seen it take place before yours.

So with the completion of the switches and wiring of most of the lights that leaves me with wiring my driving lights, two new power outlets, and something else that I have currently forgotten to get done before SCC. I'm almost there and SCC is almost here.

Yes, definitely sucks. The passenger side has been bulged since 30k miles so I knew this day was going to come. I've read all the threads in the Blew Room and some people have had this replaced by warranty. I highly doubt I can get that lucky since my extended warranty probably doesn't cover it. The scary part is not knowing what will happen if I hit a bump too hard.

Won't hurt to ask...

Broke a T fitting on a heater hose pulling into my apt.
Rode bike to find a similar sized T-fitting at lowes. Trying to get in touch with CDan and order new heater hoses and two OEM T fittings.

Factory light switches are about 30-40 from TRDparts4u. Not sure how much our local sponsors could get it to you for.

Man that does suck. Too bad you are no where near our 2 sponsoring dealerships where you could get a straight answer with no BS.
