FWIW, you have no idea how much more traction you gain with a front locker until you drive a trail with and with out it. Although, you do have to use it very sparingly, especially with an IFS. It can break CVs much more easily than if your front diff was open, just have to know when and when not to use it.

Nothing like that on the immediate horizon but maybe in the future. Cost and budgeting are the biggest factors so we will see how things go financially over the next year. The ultimate plan might be OEM steelies, 35s, 4:88s, front locker, and new UCAs and Coilovers up front. It's a lot of money but if I think I can pull it off I will probably go for it item by item. The front locker might get axed from the list and I may still go for the 285/75/17s and 4:56s, but I'm just not sure yet. I consider doing this once a year and then something always comes up that causes me to put it on the back burner like twins or new houses, or job changes. I was just curious about the e-locker and if I would have to change it too.

Sounds like you and the Fj have a 5 year plan.

I know all the things I want next in order, but not of how to obtain them. Maybe I should worry about paying her off first LOL

Well Lee, as soon as I posted this I got a phone call from my wife giving me the damage from the plumber. Let's just say that I will not be acting on these plans anytime soon.

Casper made his first recovery tonight! An older lady had accidentally driven her car (4 door Chrysler 300) in a (shallow) ditch and got stuck @ Flannery and Greenwell Springs Rd. She said it was her husband's car and she couldn't get the headlights on. She thought she was turning into the driveway of the church/school on the corner and missed it by 40 feet.

Got down in the standing water, looked around and found an opening in the left rear frame. Hooked her up and eased the car back onto pavement. Nothing spectacular or technical, but a successful 1st recovery for Casper!

good on you
