Brad, what a bummer. But here's the lawyer in me giving you some advise on how to get that scumbag to pay money for what he did.
Your local justice of the peace is actually a judge in LA. He has jurisdiction up to $5000. Tow the FJ to a shop, have your gas tank removed and cleaned (filters and whatever else too), then reinstalled. GET THE RECEIPT! File suit with the justice of the peace for the amount of the repair and allege also inconvenience and mental anguish. Go for the full $5000. DO NOT ALLEGE MORE THAN $5000 OR THE JP WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HEAR THE CLAIM. Get a written money judgment from the JP. If the scumbag cannot pay the judgment, you will then need to garnish his wages from your employer to satisfy the judgment (there's a legal step in between money judgment and garnishment, but first things first). You don't need a lawyer in JP court, which is why it's good.

Thanks Will! Depending on how this turns out I might have to do that. The tank should be off any second and I will be able to see if any damage was done. This guy is literally a broke dick scumbag who I am pretty sure just quit about 30 min ago. People these days. sheesh

oh haha, that is the best part. Me and another buddy at work were throwing a tennis ball around and it ricochet off of the wall and hit him. He was trying to eat his pop tart and dropped it and then did not say a word. Just walked off. Next thing I know someone told me to go outside bc someone is fooling around with my FJ (everyone I work with knows its my baby and that messing with it is not a good idea). he was gone but my gas lid was open and an empty bottle of sugar was on my arb bumper.
Luckily nothing is wrong and we did not even have to change the filter. My friend just drained the tank, cleaned it and refilled it. She starts up just fine.

I did and that is when the guy quit. I work for a dealership so they paid someone to drop the tank and clean it. Then bought me a tank of gas
. If I have any problems it will be taken care of.
Well, I'm still in for kicking his a**. Deep down, I have this wonderful nasty streak. I'm usually pretty good at keeping it under wraps. However, this deserves at least a broken finger or two.
