Unfortunately my money tree is not quite that fruitful!

Now if I could get rid of a couple of these kids, or at least the tuition, that would free up some mod cash!

I installed this :flipoff2:

John, you'll have to check T4R to see of it will work on your 3rd gen but I know that a bunch of 4th gen guys use Bilstein 5100's and FJ coils to lift the front. You should be able to get some FJ coils in the cheap.

I know it works for the 4th gen but I'm not sure about the 3rd. I think I did see some talk about it. Most people seem to use Ome, Tundra coils, or the adjustable coilovers. I was wanting to go with the adjustable because I want to start out with a mild lift while my daughter is driving it, then go all the way when I kick her out of the house and I get it back. (that is if I can keep it away from my son)

The first 3 letters of my plate ar VOR which in the parts world is a code for a priority order. It stands for "Vehicle Off Road". I thought it was fitting.

Pretty easy overall except for the top shock mounts. There is not much room. It took me a while to get the first old shock off as the nut was frozen. I ended up cutting it off. The other side took about five minutes. I got a BIG pair of channel locks to hold the shock and was able to breal the nut loose.

The Bilstein 5125's have an eye mount at the top instead of a stud. The ones I got from Toytec came with an adaptor. these were a little difficult to install because the adaptors are attached using a 24mm nut with a nylon insert it takes a lot of cranking power with very limited room. if the shock is attached to the adaptor, the shock turns. If not then the adaptor turns.

I'm not sure If i am too fond of the adaptor design but the shocks are good. Time will tell how they hold up. I might have chosen a different option if I knew then what I know now.

It definately takes care of the rear sag problem and the ride is much improved.
