my 40 "sits" for at least 300 days of the year, in the AZ dry heat, but honestly, brakes have not been a problem thus far

Thanks to Kevin upgrading to the Rocktek, I am now the proud new owner of some OSA lower link armor and it's already broke in. At least one part on my truck will actually have seen some trails now.

And thanks to Grouper for his valiant attempt to put the impossible BudBuilt diff skid on my FJ. If I wore pants as tight as that skid fits, I'd be arrested.

Is the diff skid for a 2010 +?? The older fjc have a smaller diff. I wonder if that is the issue?

It can be done with a floor jack. The tolerances are just too tight and it needs a little help getting put into place. The biggest problem I was having was getting the bolts to thread. I could not get them to line up properly and adjusting the skid was difficult due to the lack of leverage to use the rubber hammer. I did not want to strip out the bolts or worse an that was what was going to happen so I backed off.

Well I was going to do it today but the wife left me with the kids. Probably Monday.
I just got rear springs and shocks for now. THe stock stuff is worn. It should result in a small amount of lift over what stock is supposed to be and I will probably have some rake, but it should greatly improve the ride quality. I will get some adjustable coil overs for the front later on.

Look out.....first the rig and then he stealths us with a mod......I think he has been bit for real. Soon he's gonna post a pic of a bumper with a winch, skids, some 35's and ARB's for the front and rear.
