thats cause you go to the wrong place

got to find a place that doesn't care. My car has 25% tint all around, no cats, the dash board looks like a Christmas tree, and as of a couple months ago, a little chip right in the fricking middle of the windshield. Also, I had apparently forgotten to reattach the horns once after doing some front end work, the place in Vacherie still gave me a sticker lol, all they cared about was lights and signals. Just depends where you go.

Paul, are you talking getting a brake tag in Louisiana? Hell, they don't even make you blow the horn where I go, much less check the gaseous emissions. Most places are just as bad.

Where I'm at is extremely strict. They check everything including ecu readiness, gas cap test, every light and if you have a small crack in the windshield on the driver side, they can turn you down. I can't tell you how many times I've been turned down because of a check engine light. It gets really aggravating. I'm surprised they haven't started hooking a hose to the exhaust yet, but I'm sure that is next.

what they do and what they are supposed to do are two entirely
different things:D
you can try lying to the ECM with the afore mentioned box & remove cats that will keep the light off but be warned if they start doing the probe ya won`t pass if you move to an area that test ya won`t pass so keep all you old sheet you just might need it. cause if n the future to replace it all will be expensive:cheers:

Nah. Livingston parish is one of the most strict around. I go to the place that I know I can get away with a few things but they will absolutely not pass you if you have an obdII vehicle and you have a check engine light. I have even tried turning the CEL out but they plug the computer up and your ecu has to say that it is good. I've gotten away with no license plate lights, cracked windshields and even tint up until here recently but they cracked down on that, so you can't even have dark tint anymore. I've tried to drive to Kenner to get a tag but they wouldn't pass me because if you are registered to a parish that does emission tests then you have to go to an inspection station that does emission tests. I've thought about moving, a couple of times, for that reason only lol.

My vehicle is registerd in MS. No Brake Tag necessary.

Lucky. I wish I could do that.

they wouldn't give me an inspection sticker with my tube doors on. the guy said he can only pass jeeps with tube doors because they're considered "farm vehicles". haha. so now i have to put my doors on just to get it inspected. lame.

Nice that you run your doors frequently though. It rains like clockwork around these parts and I have no covered parking at home or at work.

you'd better watch it! guys love a girl that drive a nice truck.

more guys talk to me when I drive the 40 than the 80, though :hhmm:

There's a place in dehnham springs that will pass even an obd2 port car, I got it done on my exs car so... Then again it's who you know as well

So, which one of us makes the "Mad Mad" ROTM first?

I guess you have the originals still, right...

Lol. Yea I still have the originals. I made some quick release pins for the hinges so I can change them in a couple minutes.

Big shout out to Discount Tire! They chose my FJ as a winner of a set of Hankook Tires! I posted a photo on their Facebook page and I was one of 4 that won. Coolest part, they let me get any size that I wanted. So cheers to you Discount Tire Company!
Since these will be on the 4Runner in the winter, I went with the biggest that I could squeeze under it. 295/70/17.
Looking for a set of black lugs so I can get the caps to fit...
