18-19 around town, slightly better on Highway

Dragos80 - note his sig line - he's running a HDJ80. ;)

I did.
I simply asked if his figure was in Imperial gallons or US gallons. They're not equal.

Agreed on imperial vs US gallon. Comparing mileage on a diesel vs a gas engine isn't either.

Before the tranny went kapow I was getting 10-12
295,986 mi
'91 (3F-e) bone stock]
31x10.5x15
Putting in a 5.3 Vortec and hoping for at least the same if not better with the power I'll have...

I'm trying to get less mpg but no matter what I do I end up at like 12 or 13 mpg.

If someone has a 3FE that gets more than 13 MPG, let me know how you do it. I'm lucky if I get 10 on either of my 80s.

13 mpg @ 65 mph. Goes down to 11 mpg @ 75 mph.

Bumping this thread. Just took a road trip so it was a good time to get some data. I don't drive the 80 a lot so don't often track mileage. Stock other than Safari turbo system, sliders, and 285/75/16.

Denver to Raton: Starting odo 189,285 - ending odo 189,495. 210 miles. Gauge was about on 1/4 full. But I have 285s so checked with Google maps and it's 218 miles going the way we did. Put 16.519 gallons in. So that's 12.7 mpg by the odo or 13.2 mpg by the Googles. Family of 4, packed for travel, going 80 on I-25. PWR button on, 40 psi in the tires. Correction factor for tires is 3.8%.

Raton to Santa Fe: started 189,495, ended 189,711. 215.5 miles. Gauge again about 1/4 full. Put 18.572 gallons in. 11.6 mpg by the odo. Again going 80 on I-25. It was super windy. Corrected is 12.0 mpg.

Santa Fe to Salida on US 285: 189,711-189,949. 238 odo miles. Gauge was above the 1/4 mark. Put 15.634 gal in. 15.2 odo mpg. 15.8 mpg corrected mpg. Did about 5 over the whole way.

Salida to Denver on US 285: 189,949-190,074. 125 odo miles. Gauge was above the 1/2 mark. Put 8.076 gal in. 15.5 odo mpg. 16.1 corrected mpg. I did a lot of passing on this section of 285, but it's also mostly downhill.

15 MPG !!!??? just tune it a bit more and the engine will produce premium gas for you to use in your Prius !!!!

Doesn't really seem to matter how I drive it is always between 13-14 in town. Highway usually 13.5 doing 75-80 all the time.

Currently running 285s (yes I do the conversion for it as well)
