Did you have the gasket installed when you checked the preload?I rebuilt my t-case today. I have a question.. There was a shim behind the race on the output shaft bearing(see breakdown) when I put the shim in after I bolted everything together it was hard to turn. If I loosened the bolts on the output shaft then it would spin free again. I removed the shim and now with it all bolted together is spins nice and there is no endplay on the output shaft, so I don't think its too loose. I installed a complete kit(gaskets and all) that I got from @orangefj45 I am just wanting to know if others have had to remove the shim or not??? I did take it all apart and made sure that I had both the races seated, but, maybe I missed something... Thanks for the help.
