What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

I installed a 4X4 Labs Saginaw bracket mount. Also got my 4X4Labs bumper mounted. Thanks @franklin40 for the encouragement to do it myself. This was my first attempt at welding. Very pleased how it turned out.

After lots of YouTube videos and reading on the forum I decided to tackle welding in my rocker panel. Hit everything with a little weld-thru primer (at least the hidden areas) and started tacking it in place. Lots of tacking and grinding and tacking and grinding. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be!

My son and I just finished bleeding the brakes on our 72 after trying some Krylon Intl. Harvester Red on a "new" early '69 bib we're using on the truck. I think the brake fluid may have been original in the rear lines. It was bad!

Take your time cutting out the old rocker so the panels will be tight when you put the new one in. I used my replacement rocker panel to trace the cut line on the old one. Use the lightest wire you can. I used .025 solid core with a 75/25 mix. I have a little Hobart 175 I picked up on craigslist for cheap. The lighter wire definitely allows you to control the heat a little better. Keep the gun at a 45 and it'll help not to blow holes through the metal. There are some pretty good youtube videos on welding sheet metal that are pretty helpful.

Nice work. Love the look of those corrugated hardtops from the 60's. Also looks great with the old school tires. Good luck!

Rigged up a lift for pulling off the heavy corrugated top with some rope, pulleys and ratchet strap. It's a tough job to do alone but spring is here!

Thank you very much .that info will be very help full.I just picked up a Miller Matic 190 I got a great deal on it.I just need to get a 220 line installed
