"...why have you coiled your brake line here"
The longer brake line that was on the rear axle when I got it was almost new but was too long.
I decided to go ahead and use it but needed to use up some length.
Thanks for the tip. I'll look at it again.

ElHefe.... The nerve of some people!!! Get a Doberman to keep in your rig so it never happens again. I'd be furious, but at least there wasn't any serious damage.

Get yourself a model T coil and a remote control door lock solenoid. Wire it up so that you can turn on the T coil, which runs off a second battery, using the remote. Any body touching your rig will complete the circuit and get knocked on their butt. This is for only short term protection, as in your case when you are somewhere in town.

This is all kinds of brilliant. Justification for a dual battery set up if I ever heard one!

I think we're going to need 6-10 more pictures of the damage, in order to properly assess your next move. Please have your sister in each of the pics, pointing to said damage. ;)

Haha. CCOT poses.

Today, I took my little sister for a ride and stopped by Trudy's (by the UT campus). While we were grabbing dinner, someone hopped in, pulled it out of gear and pushed the 40 back a couple feet to fit into a parking spot. How do I know? They used the fender turn signal to push it; broke my driver turn signal. I had no idea this was happening. When we walked back out and I saw the damage I was f**king livid. Good thing neither they nor their vehicle were around when I got there.

That gravel lot across the street from Trudy's is a war zone. I've had two vehicles sustain body damage while parked there. Probably drunks who had no business behind the wheel.

Got my new shiny SOR stainless door hinges installed, which allowed installation of my new Metal Tech tube doors. Oh and screwed down my transfer case shifter boot. Also passed emissions, good for another year! :bounce:

Got off my duff in the sweltering Texas humidity and installed a bypass hose across the fill plugs of the transmission to the TC. Been almost two years since the TC rebuild, oil was clean and the transmission was not overfilled; so this is insurance only at this point in time. Yep I know the speedo cable looks a little frayed from rubbing against the old header, but it still works so I anchored it out of the way for the time being.;)TC Bypass Hose.webp

Also cleaned up the clutch cover plate I picked up from a fellow Mudster and got it installed.

Set the timing and enjoyed a ride around town.

I looked at mine. It was the only thing I could do because I am officially broke.:crybaby:

I finally started the Chassis Saver project! Wire wheeled and sanded the back floor and fender wheels. It took me over 2 hours to remove everything from the back. All of the bolts to the roll bar were locked in tight. Lots grinding and shop vac'n and air spraying until I had a good surface. Only thing that I left hanging was the rear heater. When I do the front half the heater will be removed.

I will need to apply a 2nd coat tomorrow. I am hoping I shouldn't have to do any prep work.

Not sure if I will put bedliner down after or paint or leave the Chassis Saver on. Any suggestions please!!

Carlosfj80... That's the eternal question: To liner or Not to! Are you a purist? If so then don't, but if your not and it will make you happy then do it. Just keep in mind it's permanent. Just my 2cents.
