What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Lubed everything up, put new door pulls on, new rear lock for ambi door, rotated tires, cleaned all the mud off drive train/calipers etc. and put the original floor mat back in. No more squeeks and creaks when I drive down the road. :)

It's ALIVE!

I drove my 40 for the first time in almost a year! Minus the death wobble, it was so cool to have it going again! I was able to get a local 40 guy who knows Small Block Chevys to stop by and help me dial stuff in that was beyond my abilities. I'm trying to get him to check out 'mud.

I'm hoping to drive the 40 the two miles to my new job tomorrow. Wish me luck...

Thanks! If everything goes well, I will be certified to weld in the bridge crane industry in 6 months. It's completely different than the vehicle fab I've done. Tomorrow marks my first week complete.

Now that the 40 is rolling again, maybe I can finish my rear bumper that has been back-burnered for 3 years; and my 14 bolt and my front 9 inch and my 465/205...oh boy!:bounce::bounce2:

I finally started the Chassis Saver project! Wire wheeled and sanded the back floor and fender wheels. It took me over 2 hours to remove everything from the back. All of the bolts to the roll bar were locked in tight. Lots grinding and shop vac'n and air spraying until I had a good surface. Only thing that I left hanging was the rear heater. When I do the front half the heater will be removed.

I will need to apply a 2nd coat tomorrow. I am hoping I shouldn't have to do any prep work.

Not sure if I will put bedliner down after or paint or leave the Chassis Saver on. Any suggestions please!!

looks grate!! I cant wait to see it next time im back up in portland visiting my girlfriends family, i may have to take the top off of my 40 too!!

Maybe, maybe not. I am sure if you do SOA you are going to put 4.88s and 35". If you have the 35" already then get that SOA and my country boy math, college math went to bed already, says it will fit.:D

That sounds like me.

I did put $20 worth of fuel in the tank to drive down to a house we were looking at to make sure it would fit in the garage. I had 6" of clearance above the hardtop. That's enough for a springover to fit right? :hhmm:

Other than that, it's pretty much being used for storage :o

Thanks!!! When are you coming up again? Are you working this weekend? Could use some fasteners.

set the 3fe

3FE in its new home. I used the 3FE engine side mounts from the FJ62 and the 2F frame side mounts from the 40. The Driver side (frame side) mount gets slotted about 3/4" toward the center. Also had to add 1/2" of shims on driver side due to the difference in height. Added a 1/4" shim top and bottom of the mount.

Integrated a DPDT switch to not only control my electric fans but to illuminate a panel mount indicator on my dash to tell me when my fans are full off. Yes I need a dummy light that big. Figured I might as well use the space. I used a 22mm LED in the big hole. Unfortunately I scored the dash while re organizing the lay out of my controls. Kitty sticker is a mod my at the time two year old daughter installed.:)

I started off by putting the rear Bilstein shocks on the front, that was hard, then put all the shocks on correctly.

I also bought a SILVER star.
