What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

1) Made an investment in my 40's future:

'88 Millermatic 200. It's a sweet rig. Couldn't pass it up for the price. Lightly used and begging to burn in my frame ties...which leads me to:

2) Wire wheeled all the welds on my MT Jackson cage then took it down to bare metal with 100grit

3) Primed it with self etching primer.

I'm still trying to decide what color I want to go with on the roll cage. My cruiser is white, it's a repaint, but is pretty dog gone close to either 033 or 031 white. So I'm stuck between gloss black, flat black, a gunmetal color, or the pewter color. What do you guys think?

First of a few posts so here it goes:
Picked up a '79 Troopy from this guy who has had it the last 8 years or so. Unregistered, but still runs like a dream. Since i've had it the last week and a bit, I have got:
New Spark plugs
New Oil / Filters, ran new lines,
Cleaned up bash plates/air filter canister, and sprayed matt/gloss black
Removed dodgy dual battery system, replaced with single
Adjusted the carby as it was running fairly lumpy.
New Front guard lights
New Fan Belt

Next up: rust and panel repair :D

Here it is as it sits. Meet Toyotasaurus Rex

Pewter would look good or the gun metal.

Drove mine to work on Tuesday. With the assistance of a coworker and my mechanic's stethoscope I discovered the hissing sound I recently noticed when shutting it off is my brake booster. Just wonderful. I see a minitruck booster swap in my near future.

Just picked up these schweet doors to make into hard half doors, but I think they are too original and complete to cut up. Other than where someone put on different mirrors, they appear to be original even down to the weatherstripping. What do yall think?

I chopped up a set of totally 100% perfect doors to make my half doors.... I got them for $50 so I didn't really care... in retrospect, I should have sold them or traded them for a not so perfect set to work with since I had a bunch of body work to do making them into half doors anyway. But whatever, half doors are sweet and you already have them.

I think you may want some new hinges...

Ha, you'll be getting a call when the time comes... I was already thinking about your hinge set up when I picked up the doors.

Re-installed my front drive shaft after having it re-tubed at Driveline Specialist inc in San Diego. They do great work. Now it's the finally the correct length for my lift.

Pm on the doors if you decide to let them go. They are just what I'm looking for.
