What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Also I have a header for a 2f. same cheeper one piece one that you can buy in a lot of places. Has anybody put one on a fj55? My collector has a broken stud that I really dont feel like fixing causing a leak.

Does the spring go that way? And the big adjuster nut?

Good question? I put it together the way yours is situated and the slave cylinder was at an odd angle so I flipped it. Thanks for posting, I’ll do some research. These are some of the parts I want to zinc plate so they will be coming back off

Not that you’re asking about a welder but here’s a recommendation I have used now for 5+ years. Pretty sure there have been some technical upgrades but I have used in on 20ga to 5/8” and never an issue, the auto-set is super convenient and while dual voltage, I have only used the 240V with the CO2 mix

I got this header for my 55 about 20 or 25 years ago...wasn't cheap, might be the Downey/Mark A. header.

Hahaha I did ask the people of mud in this post - I need some welder input from you guys. - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/i-need-some-welder-input-from-you-guys.1374288/page-3#post-16185652

The consensus from everybody was to get a millermatic 211 bassically. I might get the cheeper millermatic 142 or the hobart 140ez now and pick up a 240 volt welder in the summer when I have a little more cashflow. I have heard both good and bad about the autoset. I think I would really use it though. I have not purchased anything yet. But will this week sometime. I need to start working on the passenger side of the fj55 project. I appriciate your input!

I think the collector is more inline with the head on mine. its why I am asking. Not really sure if it will clear the frame and trans mount.

😂 lovely I got them from my local Toyota dealership. I’m going to see what they can do to swap them out. I appreciate the insight
It looks like I got part# 45046-60H00
I think I need part# 45046-60H02
I had the same issue on my 79. I measured the thread lengths on the new vs old and found it was too short. Yeah, you will need to source the right one and match thread lengths.

That would look pretty cool as is with a clear coat. Not for everyone, but would be a nice patina look.
These vehicles have horrible panels on them. They were not stamped very flat. This is one reason I painted mine with flatz non-gloss paint. Bc I knew it would look like crap unless I did everything perfect. Most of my panels I have patched and refinished are not perfect. You have to pick your battles and accept non perfection sometimes with these.

Finally started mocking up the early shorty running boards! I need to bend the bottom of the fenders a bit more so they fit well. They had gotten bent over time since this hasn’t had running boards in a very long time. OEM 10mm bolts are on order to mount them. Going to paint them matching red and use the white pyramid rubber. :)
