@mattressking I’m testing myself…1974?

@mattressking I’m testing myself…1974?

Either that or it's a 2F
Sorry fellas, I said F vaguely, I’ve got an F, a 2F and 1FZ and now this 9/75 (aka ‘76) 2F that are queued for the ‘72.

So 9/75 would be the answer you’re looking for.

I want the ‘72 running soon and this popped up locally, so I had to get it (had…want…need, lol).

@mattressking well, no need to explain that to us ….wheres the next “fix” coming from is my outlook.

Finally got into my drum parking brake to see what’s going on… It’s never worked well. Always leaked.

No springs?

Thanks. They were fun to restore. I did not upgrade the amperage. I kept them stock. I’m going to sell one of them at some point but now I just like looking at them on my vintage parts shelf.
I call dibs on that beauty! Let me know when you’re ready to sell it.

@Ackcruisers That is a great feeling by the way… I have several vintage motorcycle parts on my wall…some in un-open factory boxes…I get asked all the time if I’m selling… decided recently to sell a few of these

I just took the alternators to AutoZone to test. They have a pretty sophisticated machine (for free) to analyze the Alternator. They told me not many people use the machine anymore (most people just throw the alternators away and buy new). I laughed and said you haven’t met the FJ40 community - we restore and repair everything.

Wow, this is extremely informative. I never knew there was a machine to test them things, let alone for free! I will take mine to Autozone this weekend. Maybe I will call them and ask if they have one before I go there, alternator in hand? Thank you @Ackcruisers !
