I have 2 sets of Geolanders 31" and 33", love them both. Aesthetically I think they emulate the old bias ply tires that would have been period correct but with modern technology.

Took it for a Sunday drive with a couple of old friends.
I like the look of the Geolanders better than the KO3’s. Now KM3’s are my favorite 40 tires but the Geolanders are a close 2nd.
Thoughts on the 9.5 x 33 Kenda’s?
I’m going to be happy if I get 40k out of them. I have 255/75/17 load range c. Wanted the softer load range C over E was why I went there but then fully loaded ended up having to run way more air than I had planned to not have the tires squat. All and all the tires held up no flats, the wear was pretty even once I aired up after the first 5k miles and could see them wearing un even. For the price I would throw another set on tomorrow and be happy.

Pulled the transfer case off to replace the input seal. Was transferring ATF from the 4L60e into the TC. Also thought I would do the rear disc brakes since everything was apart.
I did the Poser 4 wheel disc swap almost 20 years ago and have had very few problems. I rebuilt the leaking Wildwood MC last year when I did the LS swap but never the rotors or brake pads. The kit uses Chevy C10 rotors from the mid 70’s and ‘84 Monte Carlo calipers as well as Poser’s brackets. Simple to get parts for and very reliable.
One caliper had quite a bit of play on the mounting pins so that was replaced too.
Resurfaced the rotors.
Just waiting on the transfer case seals and I will get it all reassembled. Can’t wait to wrestle that thing back into place.

A little short cut I learned last time I had the TCase off was to use a piece of old bicycle pump tube (1 1/4” diameter) to hold the transfer gear and spacer in place as you slide it onto the shaft. As it goes on it pushes the tube out the back. I’ll cut it down to about 12” to make it easier to handle. I’m sure the pros have a better solution but this works.

I don't think a 5 speed was needed lol.
Driveline definitely had more to go (my balls maybe not so much)
I had the speedo buried at 100 for fun for a few seconds but was disappointed to see the GPS under triple digits when I got home.
May have to find the actual top speed.
Yeah yeah, not what a 40 was made for....
but it was made for fun, and being able to travel at highway speed is fun.
This was just a test to feel out stability and gearing I'm not condoning speeding.

Man, I hope your brakes, suspension, tires, steering and alignment are dialed in. I don't think my paint and rust would even handle that speed.

Congrats- curious what your RPM looked like at 70mph? Amazing what dialed in feels like. It’s my favorite thing to do is bring them back from undrivable.
Next time I'm out for a drive I'll run the torque app and track my RPM at 70 mph as you were not the first to ask.
Thanks for the kind words, it was a soul crushing slog at times, but for anyone doing a swap and rebuild like this, oh man is it worth it in the end.
I still have the top and doors to rebuild, Just to have them match, but they haven't been on it in years as this is a three season truck in heavy snow country.
I write this as I am having to jasco off several layers of primer and paint on the hood that I effed up pretty bad by not letting them cure properly.
I am so over body work lol

Looking at your build thread.
70mph, 4:11 gears, 1:1 4th gear, and 32" tires=3021rpms. @97 mph 4189rpms.
Nice. When I first had my current 40, the windshield blew out of the crusty windshield gasket on the interstate at 70 mph. The only thing keeping it from coming in at me was the rear view mirror arm.
The struggle is definitely real. I am wondering if the ability to wind a 5.3 last 2800rpm will compensate for not going to an H55.
My 1st 40, 350, sm420, 4:88's and 36's ran about 60mph at 2800 rpms. I could go faster at around 3k or whatever more, but driving on the highway over time It would end up around 2800 rpm. It was just comfortable crusing rpm.
My 2nd 40 has 350, nv4500, stk tcase, 4:11s and 33's. Imo, it's perfect and it will evetually get 35's. I tried stk 3.70:1 3rds and didn't like it. I could tell 35's would be too much. I think the h55 5th gear isnt deep enuff for a sbc or the like. I think the h55 is a 20% reduction which probably works great for the stk cyldr. The nv4500 is a 27% reduction.
I just wish I had a split case.
