It didn't help to look like a long haired hippy freak i guess

"He's a friend of them long-haired hippy-type pinko fags,
I betcha he's even got a commie flag
tacked up on the wall of his garage."

p.s. - I had pretty nearly the exact same thing happen to me once, 'cept I was driving a rusty '73 cheby pickup with three on the tree, instead of a 40 at the time.

Thanks, body off restore for SEVERAL years!!
I’ll bet. You should do a thread to make us all feel bad for keeping ours running “good enough”.

I mean, to inspire us.
Seriously, I’d love to know more about your cruiser.

The foam for rear seats came from Cruiser Corp in OKC along with my new covers.
The 🐊 Dundee hat made of 🦘 skin with small crock teeth I picked up in Darwin Australia years ago on a deployment! Lol
Very cool! I do group buys for a company in Oz…I might see if they can find me a hat like that.

There is a Chilton manual, apparently.

I also have a Clymer-repair manual for my Datsun. The troubleshooting chapter is unique to this series. Because they are similar vintage, and similar tech, it provides a different perspective, with enough illustrations to fill it's own art museum, but, I can't find one specific to Land Cruisers.

Weber Carburettors Tuning Tips and Techniques, by John Passini, albeit a wordy-read, covers carbruetor / intake theory.

I'm really into all things vintage.

I have a paper xerox copy of the Chilton Manual I think its for a 1966

Here you go. I just bought one off Amazon. This one just went up for sale.

I've been able to spend some time on this project over the last few weeks. Hoping to get the box, tailgate and cab guard painted in February so I can finish putting everything together before spring arrives.

Ordered tires to go on the factory 2 piece wheels today.

I have found a source for all the decals in the engine bay that I want except the one for the alternator. Anybody been able to find a source for the alternator decal?

That's looking real nice...

Got a new to me parts truck. I was cleaning it out and found this little gem buried in acorns and crap in the glove box. Cleaned up nice and is fully functional (though I haven't tried firing a real round yet).

Great patina!

But in typical fashion it is toast from the firewall back.

That's a good candidate for What have you found in the cruiser from a PO - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/what-have-you-found-in-the-cruiser-from-a-po.1320522

I'd love to find one in this shape for cheap..I've *almost got everything I'd need to take that pile and the pile I've already got, and have one usable rig from the whole mess. Lol
