Are those the procar 90 seats? If so how do you like them?
Yes, recently installed. (passenger seatbelt not even bolted in yet)

I like them a lot. Previous seats had more side bolstering, but these hold me just fine with lap belt.

What were your previous seats?

Well, that's the drivers side in and working! Waiting on glass for the passenger side now.

Some old version of “Scat” by Procar seats that doesn’t exist anymore. They looked just like these Recaro’s but vinyl. Everything had fine adjustment knobs and even the front forward edge of the seat bottom was adjustable in and out for thigh support like these Recaros:

They were worn and ratty and I like the stock appearance of the Procar 90s.

After pulling the 32/36 Weber and swapping back to the 75’ carb I rebuilt, I was still having a stumbling issue under a load. I had a brand new fuel pump from City Racer, so I swapped them out.

If you look close, it appears the pump arm on the presumed Chinese replacement was too short, so someone thought it would be a good idea to weld a pad on the arm to reach the cam. The hardened cam core obviously wore out the mild steel as referenced by the photos. Hoping to drive the truck tomorrow after I wrap up a few more things.View attachment 3245755View attachment 3245756View attachment 3245757

This belongs in the wall of shame thread!

Haven't done anything to the LandCruiser this week, except to fill up the gas tank today. In doing so, I discovered that behind my locked gas tank door, the cap was missing!. I must have left it sitting on the running board the last time I filled up. I asked the attendant if it was in the lost and found, and looked around the parking lot, but it's been a few weeks since I filled up last, it is long gone :frown:. It was an old vented version of the gas cap, and I was just continuing to use it until I could get the new charcoal and vent system hooked up. Anyway, so I put the factory non-vented cap on that I had in the glove box, and now I guess my new lines for the vent have been moved up on the to-do list. Need to get some of that ni-cop line in the correct diameter first. I just hate losing that thing :(. The non-vented cap with the old rusted vent lines does build up some pressure, so I just have to be careful with that. Well, no pictures of the missing cap. I hope the rest of my 40 friends have a better week! :).

My two year old has been watching me work on my yellow 40 over the last few weeks and yesterday saw me using the floor jack to rotate tires. This evening he rolled the jack out himself and had me show him how to use it. I swear he raised and dropped his little cruiser two dozen times. Kinda funny because I've seen adults who don't know how to use one.

Just think by the time he is able to get a license he will probably still be driving a total electric vehicle. Might want to teach him now to turn off the lights and conserve the battery life. He gets off road won't be as easy as getting a jump start on an internal combustion engine to get going again.

Not a chance John, my two and four year old already have their own respective full size 40s as well as their toy ones.

I had some best top seats but after much searching and a few phone calls I found the early fj40 bench seats for mine. But the back up plan was to put in procar 90 seats, they just look super nice and so close to some of the later fj40 seats.

I am about to rebuild these seats from 1968 and put some coral seat covers on. Its going to be interesting haha.

I wish I could say that I've never done this, but I have! The night before a cross-country trip no less. Discovered it at the first fill-up on the trip, in Vernon, TX. Nice people at the local NAPA found me a domestic part that fit the neck and opening, but the fuel door wouldn't close. That got me to Albuquerque NM and American Toyota, who (back in the Dr. Dan days) had the correct one in stock.
