getting to the end of my V8 swap. yesterday cut down the rear drive shaft and prep for weld. today Christmas day new throttle cable + bracket for throttle cable and cable for the 700R4. painted/mounted the air cleaner. getting close! I fired it up the other day, sounds good with only the headers on. just days till i'm on the road.

Installed a 4" Lift

I just completed installing a 4" lift on my cruiser. This was the first mechanical project I have completed ever!! I can no longer say I have never wrenched anything!

Feels great to look at my cruiser and know that "I Did That".

Yesterday, I cleaned and re gapped the plugs, and changed the oil & filter

New fuel filter, was going to install a new SOR dual battery tray I got but then decided the one I built already was better in the first place. Then I ripped out my rusted old center frame sections and installed the new ones.

Managed to find a resistor for my heater motor, got that mounted and now I have low speed again...Yeah! If things work out, cable lockers and a IPF headlight harness, plus a bunch of LEDs next week. Oh, and 60 series outers while doing the locker install so I can finally run aisins and dump the Sears branded seletros I got now.

Had a knee replacement 2 weeks ago so I'm having cruiser withdrawls.(clutch leg!) Haven't drove it in that period. Went outside, 2 pumps of the pedal,pulled choke, bumped starter, and she purred like a kitten, smiled like a little kid, shut it off. I'll probably do it again tomarrow! Man, I miss driving it!

Once you've wheeled with them, you'll wonder why you didn't get them sooner, four wheel discs are the best... by far.

V8 Swap

drove it out of the garage and on to the street for the first test drive with it new engine

Installed a heater control valve from a 60 and a later model 40 heat control cable in my '71. It's nice being able to control the heat from the inside of the cab. Best thing was no cost just a little horse trading for the parts.
