Had to change a tire on the 200 for the first time in 143k miles. Lost a little rubber at 85 mph on US20 east of Bend, OR. Never lost pressure so pretty uneventful getting off highway . These Faulken A/T3W are on their 3rd summer and were at >80k miles with 7/32 left. Probably go with another set again

Woah.. did you notice a sound or feel a vibration to know there was an issue?

Sounded like I ran over something but didn’t feel anything. Could see the debris in the rear view mirror. Didn’t vibrate much afterwards but I was slowing down pretty fast

Do you know whether this tire ever saw highway use while underinflated? A failure of this kind is quite rare for a respected brand.

Oh no! That +25 offset would have been perfect. I just went through the offset rabbit hole to ditch my spacers and run 285’s.
Funny thing about this saga. I went back to the website and the wheels I bought show the only option is +25 offset, but my paperwork shows 0. I was sure I purchased +25. So far the very well known company isn’t willing to work with me, it I’m going to keep pushing and see what happens.

Have you measured the wheels? The paperwork could be wrong.

Interesting question. About a month ago it ran as low as 25psi for a mile or two before I noticed pulled over and used my compressor to get it back up. Found a large nail and drove to a shop (10 miles?) to get repaired. It may have gotten back down to 25 psi in that time. And you can see the plug at the bottom of the area without tread. I’ll bet it’s related

What’s the date code on these? Could age be a factor here?

Editing to add: no just saw your post about the plug. That’s right on the edge of where most places won’t plug it because of how close it is to the edge. Possibly the issue but I’m still curious about the age.

I wouldn't think that timeframe at that pressure would be a problem unless you were very heavily loaded and/or in death valley or something and/or at the speed limit of the tire.

But the plug being at the edge of the delamination? IMO the shop that did the work needs to see that. This doesn't seem like coincidence.

This sucks. The set of methods I just bought for my camper had “test fit” and “no refunds on mounted wheels” all over the place.

I really hope they step up and do the right thing given the discrepancy between website and paperwork you have.

Thanks, me too. Their website says “we will do whatever we have to do to make our customer happy” and no mention of wheels being exempt from return or exchange. We’ll see.

I hope it works out for you.

Here’s a picture from the box my 304’s came in, those are my old wheels in there now.

Even if you put them on your vehicle without tires it would be so difficult to tell they were the wrong offset. That inch won’t noticeable until the tires are in the fender.

They sent the wrong product. I'm not sure what the issue would be at the vendor. How would they expect you to know that they sent the wrong offset wheels?

Ordered through the tire company I had do the install. I never even saw the box. I’m about to pull the trigger on some icon six speeds in 17x8.5 +25. I’ll get those mounted while I deal with the other company.

Looks like 4220, and I first put them in April 2021

Sounds like the tire company made the mistake. I’d be surprised if the wheel company helps in this regard.
