Today I installed the switch that opens the tailgate from the inside when I sleep in the car.
It was a bit complicated to get the cables behind the plug because I had only about 2cm free cable but it all went smoothly.

Note: I probably should not have exchanged you the dampers of the tailgate against new. A decent effort to close the tailgate from the inside
I repurposed a grab handle from the third row (I removed my third row) and attached it to the inside to give something to pull the upper tailgate closed with. Free and easy to do.

The perforated tube already comes with the cap, but it's too short (since it's meant for the Venza part # 15620-31060). It's super easy to swap your tube over to the Venza cap. You just flatten out two tabs, then push-and-twist the tube to get it out. Then do that in reverse to get the tall tube inserted.

Short Venza vs tall LC

Good call. It's a nice upgrade. I did to my 2011 as well. Just had to switch out the tube, easy enough...

5W30 oil change on LX after 5k miles and 6 months.

Have I mentioned how awful oil changes are on the 200? Screw the team who elected to use cartridge filters for the “environment”. I have made more of environmental impact from all the oil I’ve spilled than threaded filters ever would.
The (Motivx) filter housing removal tool and the (MOCW) brass drain tool make a big difference when you do an oil change on the 200s...you can get both on Amazon. I change out my oil drain plug gasket every time as well. Hope this helps.

Now you just need the Fumoto oil pan valve with clip on hose kit. I use hoses long enough to put the other ends into the holes in my oil catch pan. I wish I could say I was coordinated enough that I never spill now, but at least I have 98% of the oil in the drain pan before I start making a mess.

It was a nice day so we put out the new ARB awning I mentioned earlier and attached the awning room for the first time.
This thing goes up REALLY fast - about 30 minutes to extend the awning and attach the room and this was our first try:

Also turned 15:

Installed rear lower control arm mount skids. It took a lot of pounding to get them on, so had to touch them up with a quick shot of spray paint.

Pro tip: after putting the new arm mount bolt through, use a jack against the front of the skid (only on one corner), then pound other front corner with a 2lb hammer: the pressure from the jack and impact from the hammer moves the skid the rest of the way up where it needs to be. Then (still on jack) drill one hole and install bolt, then remove jack and do other hole + bolt.

No pics, because I wasn’t thinking about it, but I cleaned up all (some) of the wiring in the engine bay. Mostly just cut down the wiring harness for the eLockers and wired the lockers directly to the Garmin PowerSwitch. Rerouted and cleaned up the wiring for the homespun ARB Triple, reran and secured the airline to the tailgate quick connect, reran the rear locker wiring, and order some new socket sets, power ratchet and tool roll to keep in the drawers.

Unrelated, but rad: found a doorbell for the house that allowed me to program it to play the first 15 seconds of “For Whom the Bell Tolls”. Don’t love the sound quality, but looking to hack it into my old Sonos Play that has lost Wi-Fi. Time to find my soldering gun.

Happy Easter.

Stupid AIR system. Relocated the breathers, cleaned out the crap foam in the motors. Next step replace the valves and do the valley plate while I'm up there.

Put the minivan in summer mode: 285/75r18 Terra Grappler, 1" spacers, stock height in "normal." I was expecting it to look meaner. Wife said it looks like I lowered it. It doesn't rub, but I might do an AHC sensor lift just to look cooler.

E-rated tires at 40 psi pretty much ruined the buttery smooth Lexus ride :hillbilly: gonna play with pressures a bit and maybe look for a C rated tire for next summer.

Nice, I wouldn't hesitate to run 35psi. At least give that a shot before you make any decisions about stiffness. I found my Load Es on 17" wheels "softer" than my highway tires on 20" wheels. You'd be surprised what a difference a few PSI makes.

Also, i think you get to post in the 35" club with the 285/75R18...

Are you re-geared? If not, did you notice the difference?

No, stock everything. Yes, you can notice a difference right off the line in 1st gear. Once you're away from a stop, there isn't much difference in around town driving. The 3UR makes enough power it's perfectly acceptable to me (so far). My other truck is an fzj80 on 35's with stock gears, so much better by comparison, lol. I haven't had it in low range yet to see how much of an impact is felt there and I also haven't taken it up to the mountains to see how it handles up there. I've only driven like 5 miles, lol.

The RCTIP for those LT285/75R18 E 129/126R Terra Grapplers on your LX570 is 35psi F/R.

FYI

The biggest impact will be on grade and on the hwy. I basically only get overdrive on a flat road with no headwind at speeds < 80.
