Nice work! Why the switch to conventional suspension, and what are your impressions compared to the LX suspension?
I want the extra clearance all the time, and ability to handle weight. The LX suspension is great, was good on my 470 too.

I just don’t want to have to worry about moving it around, and want full time height.

I really like the OME. I went with the heavy, as the bumpers are on the way. It is stiff, but does not rattle the truck. Buyer responsive.

Today the paint correction, full xpel wrap, and ceramic coating were completed, the detailer had to get creative for the bumpers. This is probably the cleanest it will ever be.

Mounted some recovery gear in the Dissent lockable storage thing and mounted a 12v pump inspired by @wiseinvestor. Not sure if this will be the permanent solution or not.

Beatufil rig, great set up. How are those wavian water cans working out? I was going back and forth between them and the ironman water cans. Been a little dissapointed with the ironman's top cap and spigot. Drips/leaks more then I'd expected.

Thanks! We spent a long time designing and had someone else do the work and I have no shame admitting we went the bought not built route. I’ve built before this and now with young kids I just don’t have the time and would rather be camping with them.

I’ve had 4 wavian jerry cans for 2 years now and they have been rock solid and zero leaks with the caps tight. I got two more with the Dissent bumper and those are the only ones I’ve used the spigot on… so far so good for the spigot. I did run a few wraps of Teflon tape on the threads because you have to remove the spigot from the lower mounted one to get it off the bumper.

One thing I have noticed about them is the ones mounted on the vehicle have faded from the sun but other than that I would buy again.

I do have one sceptre jerry and it’s fine but the giant spin off lid isn’t as user friendly for our needs. We carry a water cooler dispenser thing for camping so the wavian is great because the mouth is a really handy size for pouring.

Where do you source those rubber straps to tie things down?

I’ve posted about refreshing my headlights a few times now. This post is more about the cautionary tale of just getting the correct tools in the first place. The first time I worked on my headlights, I bought a cheap refresh kit from Amazon that was all “hand powered”. It was better than before I started, but not great, and took about 45-1hr per side.
So I decided I should do my GFs car as well. It mostly just sits, but she’s decided to meep
It a few more years. So not really liking the job I just did and needing to do it again, I ordered a $45 pneumatic da orbital sander/polisher and a kit to make use of that.
This time results were way better and I did her car and redid mine in about an hour.

Numeric milestone while headed to RMNP for the weekend. No wheeling, just a mountain getaway.

Rotated tires. woohoo.
Brake rotor hats looking a little dingy.

Rattle can paint to spruce things up a bit. High temp silver.

Viola! Look like new again.

It is amazing. Keep in mind, it may not be completely open by then. I read that the Going to the Sun road usually doesn't open until mid June.
Yeah I think we're doing that on bikes if I remember correctly. Thanks for heads up.
