Installed Clearview towing mirrors. Very well made (as they should be considering the cost) and simple plug-n-play install. You don't have to buy them from Oz any longer, they have a US branch. Clearview Mirrors USA: Top Quality Towing Mirrors And Accessories

I assume they no longer utilize the heated functionality of the stock ones?

I’m ordering some tomorrow. The stock ones with the trailer, give me a view of nothing behind the trailer.

They're awesome. Completely eliminate blind spots and give a much better perspective of what's going on behind you. They may be expensive but safety is worth it.

But yeah, you lose the heater function.

Check out their installation post on YouTube. Walks you through the trickier bits of removing the door card if you've never done it, or like me completely forgot how to get the window/lock switch group out.

I’ve had mine for 3 years. Ordered with heat and integrated signal lamp.

Thanks for the recomendation they look solid. I have seen the install video. I’ve had all the door cards off more than once. :)

Step 1 arrived today! Step 2 comes later next week........ToughDog 53mm Ralph fronts, 45mm adjustable rears, TourFlex dual rate coils and ToughDog torsion bars. Just need to order the 555 LCA ball joints and I can start the AHC removal. HATE losing the AHC, but given the new weights my rig will have, it's necessary. Adding in a reserve tank in the spare tire location, compressed air tank on the side of the KISS drawers, adding a rear BIOR bumper, finally adding in a winch (Smittybilt X20 12500 synthetic) and going with a big old NAPA Legend 75 Class 94 battery. Hoping I can win at HIH (or purchase) the Dissent underbody skids.

Pretty Colors...... good choice.

As time allows I want to know more about your ideas on reserve fuel tank to compare with my own.

Will definitely let you know. I'm hoping I can do the spare tank before HIH. If not, I want the tank before the end of the year. Researching options currently. I'm hoping Mike can bring the rear bumper to HIH and install it there. It's right under his 3 month lead time.

Rear bumper install in the dirt at a campground shows good style.

Most folks have encountered that the frame weld nuts have broken loose and moved off center from the frame holes.

Read up and have a solution for that or better yet, pre test and solve it prior to HTH.

You want it to go “like butter”.

Yup! I've been reading up on that for sure. Got under the rig earlier this week and have gotten lucky in that my bolt holes line up properly. Plan on cutting out the section of the cross-member required for the BIOR install (I'm getting the receiver and the trailer electric assembly on mine) prior to leaving for HIH. I will look a little silly driving with only the rear bumper core all the way to Colorado :)

I'm sure something will go a little sideways (it always does). But, I figure I'll have enough beer to deal with it.

I replaced the hood and lift gate struts with cheap-o ones I purchased off eBay. What a difference! They practically open on their own now.

What specs did you follow picking out the cheap-o ones. Very interested!

Specs? We don’t need no stinkin’ Specs! In all seriousness, mine were really bad... hood wouldn’t stay up. Lift gate didn’t go all the way up. I just took a chance on these ones:

4 Hood+Tailgate Lift Supports Gas Struts for Lexus LX470 Toyota Landcruiser 100 | eBay

They are the exact same length as what was on my truck, and they work great. I don’t know how long they will last, but for now I’m very happy with them.

If the link isn’t working, this is them:

So my wife married an idiot...

and the difference was that my street tires and my off road tires were in two different places.

With out those on my truck I ended up here...

Awesome thanks! I'm terrible at narrowing down off brand parts.

I don’t think the tires would have saved you...

Woohoo:

Just did spark plugs (used platinum densos instead of Iridium $24 vs 75 for 8) and also changed out the valve cover gasket while I was in there. You have to unplug the fuel injector harnesses in the PS in order to get to it. The old gasket was brittle and cracked once it bent when it came out. How does the insides of my 172k neglected 2002 LX470 look? Was expected black sludge to be perfectly honest. Also replaced the bolt grommets for the VC. Didn't go OEM this time.......so I think in 6 months I might have to change out everything again. Will be lesson learned.
