Went riding some trails...

Blew my front diff in 3-4 ft of snow. Had to do a field 2wd conversion in 7 degree weather........fing sucked!!! I've concluded it's time for an ARB front locker!!!

5 new BFG AT's (285x75x16), new aftermarket headlights, replaced cabin air filter, replaced rear lift gate struts, replaced rear lift gate straps, added first and second row weather tech floor liners , added PFRANs interior LED and back up lights, and a midland CB Radio.

Guys - Just ordered a set of the SPC upper control arms from the nice folks at @Southeast Overland

I didn't know they sold them until a recent quick search, but glad I found them and appreciated the helpful service.

Stocking SPC Dealer

Picked up a screw that holds on the rear view mirror. PO or someone prior to me stripped the one on there. Dealer said mirror sold as one piece, but search function here is great. Tracked this down for $1.50 (versus ~$275)

Damn kids

Takes some "encouragement" with a razor shaving down the plastic tab to get the metal compression washer/clip off of the top right.

Measure, tie knot, cut and heat with lighter to keep end from fraying

Put it all back together....

Still looks like it has a very slight sag to it but that's only B/C I didn't want to pull it so tight that I couldn't get anything in there. Most of the elasticity was gone. There are other ways to fix this by buying new elastic cord from a camping supply store or buying the replacement net and the entire housing from Toyota for about $30 (I even found a write up where someone put the LX 'pockets' on a TLC for about $60). Went with the free fix first since we don't use these except occasionally on a road trip to keep an extra activity book or movie handy for the kiddos.

This took all of 20 min of time on the couch with my wife trying to have a conversation with me. Worth it if your net is sagging.

Did a complete front brake job with OEM pads and rotors. Also, cleaned and repacked bearings with Amsoil synthetic MP grease. Used Slee spindle grease tool to apply NLGI #1 grease to spindle.

Pads were at wear indicator and I had a vibration for a while that I could not fix with pad rebedding procedure. The vibration is gone now and brakes feel good.

Do you have that link for the LX conversion? I tried to find new elastic cord locally, do you have a link to an internet supplier?

sure, here's the link i used for doing my "el cheapo" fix, which, like i said, i figured i'd try to just tie-off/cut my existing:
How To: Repair Sagging Seat Back Pocket on LC

if you want to replace the netting set entirely with new:
Seat & Headrest : CruiserParts.net, Toyota Landcruiser Parts

or you could use tent pole shock cord, like this - disclaimer, this is just an example, i didn't check diameter or anything. the 'hole' on the frame it fits into is pretty small, but could be drilled out a little if necessary
Tent Pole Elastic Replacement Cord 1/8" x 26 ft Gold Tent Pole Shock Cord

lastly, here's a write-up on doing the LX conversion if you can track down the pocket itself (i just don't know the part number).
Seat Back Pocket, LX470 & Landcruiser interchangeable?

down the road i will probably put in the LX pockets just b/c cleaner look and less snagging points for kids feet, dogs and gear; but thought i'd give the free fix a go and while it's not perfect, it was super easy/fast.

be sure to read up on how to pop the panel off by pushing down on white retention clip and actually pushing in to release the panel from the seatback. it almost feels like you're going to break the tab you have to pull so hard. but they're not that expensive and easy to replace if you do bust it.

Realized that the PO lied about getting water pump and timing belt replaced before I purchased it. I was told that it had been done and that they were getting the receipts together but since they just moved, they had misplaced them, then I was told that finding them was not their priority. I called the shop that the vehicle was serviced at and was told that they refused to get it done even though the water pump was leaking. Long story short -- its at the shop now and I distrust people even more.

This weekend we camped in Stamford, NY. My husband was already working up toward Stamford, so he met us there. He is farrier...

Haha, was just in Stamford not too long ago, my mom lives about 20 miles north of there in Schoharie County and I took a road trip down there for a day. Plus, my family used to do a lot of skiing over at the old Scotch Valley ski resort, which is today no more unfortunately.

In other news, got to try out my new Nokians today, we got snow, not a lot, but enough to give some people problems.

Scored 1st and second row Wet Okole seat cover from Ebay for 125 bucks shipped. Seller said he sold the LC before he got them so they were never used. Black on black. They were for 08-13 but the fronts fit my 2000 perfect, I dont have 2nd or 3rd row in my truck now so not sure what to do with the back set lol.

Got 5 18" 18 hole steel tundra rims for 125 bucks too :)

I got one!!!

Found a very nice 2007 with 113k, one owner with no accidents, lots of love, excellent Carfax. Now I have my very own Cruiser and my husband has his. I am so glad to be out of my 4Runner, even tho I loved that too. Damn Cruisers get in your blood.

We are lifting his 2002 and I am going to see if I can abide just using the AHC on mine when I need it, but am already reading up on the Slee override. Mine will get a Gobi, sliders, tires. 285 General Grabbers on Thursday. Love planning...

Installed new LCA, removed and installed frame bushing. Not sure I'll do the passenger side bushing. PITA, and 17 year old bushing in remarkably good shape( before I assaulted it with a sawzall and chisel )

Lx470 - Full timing belt service, AHC sensor lift, Spare tire lift... Tomorrow, CB Antenna and cabling, Heater Hose T's, Thursday, Oil change and brakes. Busy, mainly trying to base line everything and add in a few upgrades where possible.

Just took it for a little road trip to Louisiana loaded with 5 adults today.
Good times, but the ass was sagging so springs next week.
