What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Funny you should mention that. I spent a bunch of time searching/thinking about moving to a 60 and 80 series LC. Never have I owned a solid front axle version and I was interested in trying that out. In the end I just didn't feel like I have enough time right now with work, kids in High School and College etc. to restart a platform. Also I have a BUNCH of money in good parts on the crashed 100 and it felt like even sending those parts to good homes I would be so far in the hole that it didn't make sense.

So, yes, my love for the 100 series continues for now. Maybe I'll just drop it off at @TRAIL TAILOR with a fat check and get it SAS'd!! Best of all worlds!

Cheers,
rjones
There are absolutely no holes in THAT game plan!

I haven't got there yet but I am in pursuit of the fan bracket. Getting the fan clutch off was a real bear. At this rate it's going to take all week. I'm going to try to replace those little water bypass hoses if I can figure out the PNs. Anyway, what do you think, should I do the radiator? It's fairly brown, but works fine and has no leaks. Photo shows the ugliest part.

I would replace that. The plastic is certainly showing it's age, even if only in parts - but think about it this way, it only has to fail in one tiny spot to fail completely, so it doesn't matter if the whole radiator doesn't look bad.

Of course it isn't 100% necessary now, but I think many on here will agree that it's not worth taking the chance on a part as important as the radiator. It's a lot less money to replace it now than it would be to replace it (and a nuked engine possibly, tow bill, ruined plans, etc.) when it fails down the road.

Installed the c59-223v progressive springs today. The ride is great so far and no more weird coil binding as with the previous 167 springs. Also installed a prospeed rack.

Got lucky and picked up some genuine 2015 Tundra TRD Pro black rims for my 100. Only $400 with center caps. 2.5 hours away. He had people calling him offering him more after I told him I would take them. I pulled up and we both had matching Inferno orange tundras!

Took a trip down to NC to see the guys East Coast Gear Supply. 4.88s and added a Eaton Harrop locker to the front.

Also had them install a new set of diff bushings from @cruiseroutfit and swapped the diff drop from a Trail Tailor to Slee while they were in there.

Only changed the diff drop so I can eventually grab Slee skids when I’m out in Colorado (no plans yet).

If anyone is in DC/Nova I have the Trail Tailor diff drop for sale.View attachment 4113382View attachment 4113383View attachment 4113384View attachment 4113385

Didn’t even know this was a thing

Nice, looks like better fit than Weathertech. Where'd you source them?
Way better all around, it weighs heavier, the construction is more rigid, it fits better (not perfect as no product will zero in with the fitment-manufacturing, material and scanning challenge), it’s thicker and edges are stouter (will never curl), got these from Bangkok and will be bringing in more will offer them here on mud.

Did my oil change + oil filter, replaced the rear differential fluid, and was mid-way through my tire rotation when this happened:

Snapped a wheel lug trying to get the passenger rear wheel off. Last person to do the rotation was... me. So either I over-torqued the lug nut last time (which is weird 'cause I do it to 97 ft/lbs with a calibrated torque wrench) or it was bound to go out after 25 years of service.

Other than that, I got a reverse camera installed on my aftermarket head unit. I'll probably do a write-up on that at some point.

I just had an alignment done at a shop due to the new tires, TRE's, and UBJ's, found they left a gift for me when I pulled the wheel to repack the hubs this week.

At least I was digging into the hub anyway, I would hate to have to change one with nothing else on the docket.

I’m also considering switching from 167 to 223V; 167 are little too rough for my liking, even with ARB bumper . Do you by any chance know what’s your hub to fender measurement after installing them ?

I just installed them so they haven’t really settled but if I remember correctly it is 22.5 right now on both sides. I did install a 15mm spacer on the drivers side to even out the lean.

Been doing heaps of jobs prepping for Cruise Moab. Wasn’t expecting the left rear caliper to stick… again. I’ve been monitoring the pad wear every 5k tire rotation and all has been fine for the last 32k miles, until now. When it goes, it goes fast.

And today, same exact story.
