Front seats were cooked, leather was shredded and cracked, and it was both uncomfortable and a bit embarassing. I knew I wanted something a little different, this wasn't the original plan, but looking through options and talking to the upholstery guy, this is what we came up with. New seats, foam, headrests, and center console top.

Are those leather seat covers from one of the usual suspects that the your upholstery guy modified?

I think they look amazing! Plus you have the benefit of cloth center sections. As the owner of a factory cloth interior '99, I can tell you cloth is superior both for not frying the backs of your thighs on hot summer days and they keep your butt in place better than leather when wheeling. Best of both worlds here. I'd be tempted to do old school houndstooth, myself.

SeatCoversUnlimited has some Tweed that I’ve personally been eyeballing. Too many other projects in the pipeline right now, so that has to wait.

Wow, I love the seats with the plaid inserts... I'd be willing to recover mine again for that. Wonder if it would be possible to get some of that fabric to redo the door cards with that material as an insert as well (I guess anything's possible with enough work or money)

Up next, radiator replacement. For peace of mind. 273k on the original is a good run…
Post of photo of the old radiator when it comes out, I'm always wondering if I'll ever see one that doesn't have clogged cooling fins!

No sir, all new / custom. Dude talked me out of leather and to do vinyl, says it holds up much better. He's the pro, and it matches damned near perfectly, so I'm good with it.

That's an outstanding idea. I would say from other cars I've seen, use the busy patterns like that sparingly and as accents. It can turn into a lot quickly. Part of why he went with vinyl on the top of the console as well.

This was the stuff used: Plaid Automotive Cloth - https://www.albrightssupply.com/plaid-automotive-cloth

Also, I used nanobanana (the google ai image gen) and used a picture of the swatch and my description of wanting the centers to have it render what it would look like, and it did a hell of a job. Super valuable tool for visualizing before the time, commitment, and spend.
Original plan was more saddle blanket / southwestern, as I had seen on a 60 series that looked good, but being a black truck with grey interior, and me being very colorblind, sticking with grey scale seemed to be a safer move before I have a repeat of the purple jeep purchase incident of 2012.

yeah, only these areas is what I was thinking. Seems like I've seen similar done on VW's and Porsche's where they use plaid seat inserts

I removed the ahc system and installled a Dobinsons IMS kit with 167 coils. Then had an alignment. The rear is way too high even with weight so I ordered the 233v coils and can’t wait to try them out. I am having an issue with the coils shifting a bit or binding on bumps and curbs etc. anyone else have this issue? I’ve triple checked that they are seated properly and against the stop on the bottom but even when I go under the truck and smack them they make a shifting sound. It’s pound when driving over bumps.
When I ordered my Dobs springs back in 2017 I was looking at the 167 & 169. I contacted Dobinsons directly, I told them I did not want the "'stink bug" look, I wanted it basically level with a compliant ride (yet firmer than stock) and describing that I only occasionally tow light loads, and that I just had sliders, skid plates, a lightweight steel front bumper and I was not gonna be hauling more than ass. They recommended the C59-169. They have been perfect. The install took me maybe an hour, no issues since. When combined with my Eibach shocks (made here in CA), the ride is controlled without any harshness. Not sure if and how the AHC system would change any of this, as I don't have the LX.

This actually looks good.

This week I have been repairing my blown out mark levinson speakers one dry day at a time. I am finding that the rubber ring repair kits are better than the foam ones. So far so good. The sounds have improved tremendously and I just have to repair the front passenger side speaker as I still hear a little rattle on heavy bass sounds.

When I am done with speakers, I will take a look at the moon roof. I hear the actuator when I press the open or slide button, but it open. I am hoping a simple motor swap will fix it. Will appreciate any advice

How much did those cost you?

Bought back the 2006 Sand Dollar Pearl (Dezzi) and am about 80% of the way removing all added parts (bumpers, winch, sliders, skids, transfer case, rear springs, all added electronics - only the diff's are left). Putting together a plan to get them onto the '05, will need some new powder coating, etc.

Cheers all!!

Nice to see you're stuck in your ways. Nice replacement!

Progress so far. The pic on the bottom is why I took on this project; those wheels were no longer black. The Florida sun and hard water murdered them. I got some wet-sanding to do once I finish the other side tomorrow. Once I saw someone with a red Aisin hub snout, I wanted the same for myself. Original color was sandy-gold. Caliper got some red loving as well.

Visited a friend's pond this afternoon to survey what is required to get my 16' jon boat back to fishing. It started like this:

And ended about 45 minutes later like this:

Ended up being a 1-1/2 beer job because . . .. cows.

Oh, and I filled the washer fluid and bought oil and a filter . . .
