Well I guess these pigs really don’t like full throttle in rear wheel drive 😂

Broke the passenger side rear axle shaft. The OEM rear locker got me off the trail at least…

4.30 stock gears in the rear

Replaced dirty power steering reservoir.

Did some sanding on the hood and roof after letting clear cure for about a week. More orange peel that I wanted but not too bad for garage rattle can color and 2k clear. Shop wanted $2700. I could not justify it at this time. Before pictures included.

The roof of mine has blotchy clear. I want to reclear it. What’s your recommendation in terms of sandpaper grit to use to have it prepped for a respray of clear

I’m not an expert but I think you will need 400-600 to make the existing clear rough enough to accept the new clear. If you go any lower you may get into the color coat.

Thanks that makes sense

Is the replacement PS fluid reservoir an OE part or aftermarket? Cost roughly? Thanks!

Man… put it all in, winch generally works, but only spooling out, not in. Cables are in the right place, tightened up. Based on the manual it’s either the control box or the remote that needs to be replaced… stopping by at HF today and see if they have one available I can test.
Ok, finally had the chance to take care. Bought a new winch at HF, took the electronics off and tested. All good.
Now swapped the working one in my relocation box and the non working one back into the new winch. Winch works now and the new one from this morning is back at HF :-)

Finally! :-)

So test the winch before you install it and hide it in your bumper 😂

Great solution

Bought my car 2 months ago, so still working through the laundry list...

But here's what I've done so far...
Dashcamera (front and rear)
Remove 3rd battery and DCDC converter (sold them)
Replace the handbrake dogbones for the longer ones (handbrake actually works now)
Pulled the wire out of pin 7 on the centre diff lock relay box (stops it automatically locking when LOW is selected)
Change engine oil, transfer case oil (diffs in the next couple of weeks)
Replace weak central locking door lock motor in passenger's door (others to be done in the next few weeks)
Replace AC, Recirc and R.Defog buttons in the A/C control system
Repack front wheel bearings
Reseal A/C evaporator box (was dripping on my wife's feet)

Still plenty to do though...
New Headunit and Steering wheel
Fix bullbar parking and indicators (someone put them on with Scotchloks )
New tyres
Add 2nd battery isolator solenoid
New exhaust system (this one is religious)
Add a power distribution module for 'bat', 'acc', and 'ign'
Replace inner CV boot clips
Figure out a way to fix the broken 'hooks' on the driver's power window control panel.
.... and about a thousand more little things.

Cheers,

Chris......

If you store Land Cruisers for the winter, what do you drive?
Meese. Moosen? Moose?
He is is in Canada after all.

That looks like a bigger job :-) Looking forward reading along.

Do you have a second compressor or are you running a tank? just thinking about airing up and the single compressor....

Does that mean that part time 4wd converted rigs should worry about breaking rear axles?

not unless they’re pinning it to the floor…i know some guys who run 2WD on trails and imho that’s the dumbest idea i’ve ever heard. it’s 4WD so use it. if you’re worried about the front diff breaking either buy an 80 or run easier trails
but yeah a semi float rear is weak by definition

I picked up my 100 Series from my buddy Ryan @ Midwest Auto Shield after he did a paint correction and ceramic coating. He spent a lot of time dialing in the oxidized single stage paint. The result of his hard work is an incredible transformation and the paint now has a ton of gloss and depth. See the video for before and after. I also had them ceramic coat my new Hyper Silver 100 wheels that will be going on the truck soon.
