Can't really compare an all terrain with a mud terrain. Mud terrain are traditionally terrible on the beach and soft sand, guess Im partial to the ST Maxx for driving on the beach.
Replaced four door lock motors with motors from Ebay.
Disassembled and repaired the driver side master window switch assembly with some JB Weld, but I found the bulb for the auto switch out so I need to find a replacement for that.
Started replacing the steering rack bushings when it started to hail. Found one of the bushings melted with black gunk all over the crossmember so I assume the oil/power steering ATF leaks over the years caused it to disintegrate.
And finally pulled apart one of the 2nd row seats to figure out why the rear seat lock was not extending. Found one of the leg stays broken and another special surprise from the previous owner...
Repacked wheel bearings and did the diff and t-case oils again and lubed the driveshafts. Last time I used cheap stuff this time I went with synthetic Lucas and Red n Tacky for the wheel bearings. I noticed water in my passenger side drive hub from water crossings this year so I sealed with RTV this time.

Bled the AHC system after 5k of ownership. Squared away the front shock pressures with techstream as well. Rear are still reading slightly high but haven't tried to unplug the temp sensor yet. Drivers side torsion bar adjuster was rusted, needed a real impact to break it loose. View attachment 2490255
160k now and its lexus service records say the ahc system was never flushed. Threads on here say the used hydraulic fluid would be green but my fluid was black and smelled like fertilizer. The longest part of the flush was getting the old fluid out of the tank with this little 10ml syringe haha View attachment 2490256
I followed instructions on the 100 forum and replaced the AHC fluid on my 2002 LX470. Check out the fluid! Looks like cappuccino color at the bottom and dark green up to. I used all 3L. Must buy specific Toyota/Lexus AHC fluid. Used a Turkey Baster to remove fluid from the reservoir...

idk, dark green... must of misread this first post
Yea, slightly concerning. Would not be fun to have a drug sniffing dog indicate on the car. Current plan is to slowly pull apart the interior and do a deep clean and make sure nothing else fell into any cracks.

I had a friend take his new to him Corvette to the police and asked them to have the dog check it out. They were happy for the training opportunity, and he had the piece of mind he wouldn’t get caught trying to explain it wasn’t his stash.

had it inspected today and hope to have the title work/plates in the next day or so. 99 locked rear with fairly low miles. Runs great and clean interior. Unfortunately it originated in PA before I got it from the last owner in Charleston. Needless to say it’s getting a frame/suspension swap in the January timeframe. Should be interesting. Will become my DD.
Took the family loaded with gear to Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains near Palm Springs, CA. The War Wagon rode great but it dropped into Low immediately with all the added weight.
Flushed the AHC fluid using the great instructions of this forum. It was easy but I did make a bit of a mess in the driveway.
I think the springs are TIRED after 250k miles. I’m thinking about going with the Kings. Pressures are high front and rear currently. I suspect that going with the Kings springs will drop the rear below spec, but I plan to add skids and sliders which should help.
Wife would kill me if I posted a pic with her in it, so I have none with the War Wagon in action.

Would be great if you could document some of that. I've got a crusty '02 LX that i'd seriously consider doing a frame/suspension swap on down the road, but have no idea what the cost would look like.
