Somewhat embarrassing how little I did--I just scuffed it up with some 100 grit, then hit it with eastwood pre-paint prep to get the last of the goo-gone (oily) off, and Krylon Satin Black spraypaint--about three coats. Honestly didn't even think about primer, even though I have some plastic primer . . . because the paint is satin, I reckon any retouching it ever needs will be super easy.

Would have loved to order a 105 grille, but this looks really similar--as far as I can tell, anyway--and is roughly $340 cheaper . . .

That's awesome i really appreciate you sharing your process. I agree, looks just as good as the 105 without the $$$.

took it to kentucky then had it waxed when i got back to florida. does that count as what have i done to my 100 this week? =P

Replaced the fan clutch. The old one was original and binded a bit to the assembly. That was fun. Put a little anti seize on the bolts and assembly so it doesn't stick this time.

If you stuff your trunk during trips, you might find better fridge performance with the condenser and it's fan facing the rear of the vehicle for better air flow.

I have done some homework and Dometic states it needs two inches of clearance near the vents. As of this trip it will probably stay open like the photos but I do plan to cover the back but adding 4 vents to allow sufficient air. If that doesn’t work I’ll leave it open or add some fans to back. Thanks for looking out

Installed my Warn Zeon Platinum 12-S on my Slee bumper. This requires a relocation kit for the control pack so it clears the radiator/grille support. Not positive I am going to leave it like this but I am lacking space under the hood since I have a second battery and air compressor. I feel it still has plenty of airflow for the trans cooler but until I get it under a load on a hot day I can’t be certain. We just did the IDBDR and there were a couple of times on the Lolo where it was in the 170’s. So I am going to leave the wire looped long for potential future moves.

And no, that is not how the final training of wire will be. I am doing so now.

Installed 275/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers today. Overall for the ten miles I've driven them, I'm very happy. They seem to have about the same amount of road noise as the Cooper ST Maxx's I had on before and have the firmer yet not jarring ride... hopefully these ones will wear better!

This looks reallllly good and has me torn between the 5 spokes and the other stock 18s...

*Sigh* Just re-booted my OE axles no more than 2 months ago with the OE reboot kit and the passenger side inner boot is completely ripped apart... Beyond irritated right now.

I'm only lifted about 2 to 2.5" in the front... Should I go with one of these?

Replaced all 8 ignition Coils with Denso. Expensive but feels really good to have done with the new plugs! One coil was burnt nice and one had a crack but the others looked pretty good.

Do you have a Differential drop? I’d go that instead of or in addition to high angle boots.

Yep, got a Trail Tailor diff drop installed. Freak accident or went a little too aggressive somewhere? It's the diff side boot so it will be easy to replace. Maybe just give the OE boot another shot?

Extended rear sway bar links. Fronts tomorrow, probably. Also tuned up parking brake with new drums/rotors (passenger side was very scored) and set up lever tension per FSM. And in the gaps of links cooling stripped plastidip off of grill, sanded, primed, and resprayed with gloss black. Will install after paint has a chance to cure.

I just made 2” extensions for my existing links using 1/2” iron pipe. As nice and clean as TT links are, I’m confident that these will hold up. And if they show signs of becoming compromised, I will make new ones. I’ll do something similar for the front links.

Since the mountains in California are closed this weekend I decided to work on some maintenance.

Changed the gear oil on the front and rear differentials and transfer case. This was easier than I expected thanks to the great write ups in the FAQ’s. Looking at the color I should have done this earlier.

Good news was there was very little metal on the magnets.

Also greased the drive shaft while I was down there.
