1998 Cruiser with 253,746 miles. Changed timing belt, WP, Fan housing bracket, spark plugs and full service oil change. Next up, tie rod ends and maybe upper control arms. Timing belt showed excessive wear but going by the hand printed sticker in the top cover, the previous belt had 100k miles on it. From the appearance, it looks like it had 253k miles on it. Severely cracked and I’ve changed a ton of belts never seeing one in this shape. Anyway, all good now.

Thanks @MongooseGA this gas/fuel smell issue is very intermittent. I just used the truck today (a bit cooler than yesterday at 85°F outside temp for a total of half hour and this time no gas smell at all. The hunt continues til the next use.

Solved this issue in my truck by getting a new OEM gas cap... hope it’s that easy for you (Mine was intermittent as well). Also check into taping around the seams of body panels around the filler neck. Good thread on that somewhere here.

Joying 10.25" Headunit:
AliExpress link

Finished the Antenna wire and Reverse wire for Reverse Camera I already had this morning. Not sure I'll use the 4G , usb, mic or the rest but connected it all and routed it to good areas. One of these did everything except the antenna cont. & reverse wire.

They don't put the Antenna cont. wire through the HEAD UNITs ISO plugs, its left seperate off the back of the HU.
Hardest part of the job - chop the blue on the Aepro ISO to Toyota Harness adapter then solder it to the Ant Cont.

That unit turned on literally like that first time. It must have held memory since before it was posted (China) hasn't done a full boot as yet.
Doing research I've found that the SC9853I Intel chip is best compromise for both boot speed and speed in general.
The PX6 is the fastest but does not do the quick boot , I think it is an Intel thing. (or it is just not supported for now)

The Intel chip sits between PX5 and PX6 on speed but still quite quicker than the PX5.
Yeah so that Joying unit is an Intel SC9853I chip does quick boot in about 2 seconds and having used it quite a bit now, its so much faster than these Pioneer, Kenwood store bought brands. You can do heaps on them with apps and stuff. Bluetooth is fast. WiFi great connection speed and range. Reverse camera quicker than the old Pioneer touch screen from 2009 as well. The SC9853I chip also has custom firmware and rootkits as well, and is commonly customised. Pretty happy with the purchase.
Did you get CarPlay or Android Auto working with it?

Thanks @MDK will sure take your recommendations.
What’s your secret/process to such a clean engine bay?
No secret really, step one is to soften the hard dirt accumulated over months or maybe years of use, and that is using PB Blaster. Once dirt is wiped off completely using a Microfiber, I then use a degreaser spray to remove dirt residue.

I may have some oem uca’s w only 10-15k miles on them. if you’re interesTed I can search through my garage...

Threw on the OEM tow hitch receiver for my LX. It's a small product, but it's a really high quality item. I heard elsewhere it was causing issues with larger spares, but I didn't have any issues on my end, with a 33" underneath.

Also installed a Yakima Rideback 4 bike carrier, the bottom part that goes into the hitch receiver touches the spare, but barely. The tailgate also doesn’t go all the way down now, because it hits the hinge part of the carrier. Maybe about 2 inches before laying flat.

Yup 5% all around!

It's too dark at night though, might go back and get it redone to 20%.

Thanks, Jram100! I'm not sure my uca's are bad, just suspect. Ball joints don't show that they are bad but the bushings, frame side, look like they may be out of wack. I can easily move frame side, with a crowbar, uca's back and forth but not as easy towards the wheel. If that means they need replaced, I'd like to know what you would be asking for yours as well as shipping to Arkansas...

Car Play on Apple connects wirelessly through bluetooth and automatically if you want - you can switch that off though in settings. Zlink it uses, a tad slow to boot up around about 8 seconds or so. Pretty nice though, does everything also utilises the full screen. GUI - good
Android Auto I believe needs to be connected with cable to USB, not sure if you can buy aftermarket wireless connectors, would need to check or ask.
It does appear to pair Android phone with bluetooth though, I think it just does phone calls and sync contacts , probably plays music and everything etc.

did a quick overnighter to test out the ironman Awning room tent. Great tent, like that the floor completely zips off (makes clean up easier), there is really easy access to the rear door of the car and the front flap make for it's own awning with rope or extra poles. It feels so big, 8.5x8.5 feet with straight walls and 6.5 height

Replaced spark plugs and ordered Coils to replace for pm. The coils looked great except #7 ds at the rear. Swapped it to #1 and will definitely replace this one.

Looks like you need to do the spare tire mod and get it tucked up a little higher.
