Finally put the hundy to work. First camping trip with our twin 1 year olds.
Also installed a Raingler cargo net a few weeks ago. Best solution so far with the rear /side airbags.

Taking my father in law, mother in law, wife, 2 kids, myself and all luggage that goes along with all those people on a road trip from Iowa to Arizona for a weeks vacation.

Ordered my new pre built front third member from Just Differentials.

ARB with 4.88's.

Next month I will order the rear with the same setup. I am prepping for Cruise Moab 2014.

The re-gear is really needed after the 295/70-18's. (35's)

Did you use one of their standard nets, or custom order one? Also any pics of where you tied it in?
I had one in my FJC and it was awesome.

What were you running prior? I'm debating the jump from 275/70r18 to the 295's.... Wondering how much more it sucks wind when running them....

The biggest size I ran prior to this was 285/75-16. The set prior to the 35's was 255/70-18. Also ran the Tundra oem BFG rugged trail size. I think it was 270/65-18.

Essentially 32-33" tires.

Biggest issue is the trans ecu. Goes into OD at 1700 rpm in 3rd gear. I can still climb a steep long hill at 80 with a good start but I need a good start whereas before I could pull close to 90 up the same toll road hill.

I wanted a front locker anyway so might as well return the gearing to stock specs while doing it. 4.88's are perfect for 35's.

Went out to Mtoko with a trailer to tow a 1928 Graham Paige back to Harare. It was one of the most beautiful drives I have ever taken, managed to snap a pic on the way home with my new Panasonic water resistant camera... Pics to follow

Picked up a matching full size Nitto Terra Grappler 295/70R18 as a spare.

Getting ready to change gear oil in the diffs and xfer case. Read a thread, went to Autozone and looked at gear oil and pumps and bottles, crawled under the truck, found all the plugs, sprayed em w/ PB Blaster, could break 4 loose but defeated on the remaining 2, puzzled over jackstands vs ramps, so stopped for the day.

Does anyone know; does my 2003 Hundy have a limited slip diff? I guess an open diff and a limited slip diff take different gear oils? I'm puzzled.

I use limited slip in mine. No problems

X 2.

When many gear oils advertise LSD on them, it just means they're compatible, and may have some modifiers.

I use Valvoline Synthetic in the diffs and xfer which also says it's Limited Slip Safe, as did the previous owner, and no issues.

Good luck trying to find anything without LSD on the bottle... It's a wild goose chase.

Installed my Sahara bar and hella 4000s yesterday. Didn't have time to wire up the fogs/driving lights and hellas.

Still need to decide on a winch, will take it apart to install the winch before our first spring trip, and also likely adjust the t-bars once I see how much the front drops with an additional 200-250# of weight. (bar, lights, winch, grp31 battery)

Put some cheap carpet squares on my cheap sleeping platform. Not super luxurious, but might save a puncture in the mattress.

Also made a bracket and installed a switch to control power going to my winch.
