Pulled off the rear bumper cover to see what it looked like under that shiny plastic. FML.

Time for some welding lessons.

Hired a specialist. Gary's Collision Repair in Severn, MD did great work rebuilding my quarter panels.

Had today off, so i tinkered a little longer on my two broken wheel studs. They finally popped out using a 10mm socket. Not much left to them. Completely disassembled the broken front diff; spoke with Bryce today at Cruiser Outfitters (thanks @bwell for the suggestion! ) and a rebuild is about $400 in parts, or $1800 all in for an ARB air locker, OBA, and tray. I was ready to drop $1400 on a new open diff, so $400 extra doesn't seem too bad. What's needed more a front or rear locker?

212k miles:
New OEM steering rack with SuperPro poly bushes. A couple weeks ago the original rack started hemorrhaging fluid at the input shaft/valve body - did not appreciate the mess it started to make on the garage floor at all ....

Replaced drivers side front differential mount bushing with SuperPro unit, the original was toast. This has cured 95% of my driveline shift thunk...

Crazy.....as i was just under mine looking at the exact same thing going on. Do you have any links to the replacement parts?

Up on the rack next to a bunch of new Audi’s getting serviced.

New front OEM pads & rotors (once we find the proper tool to remove the hubs).

Did not know that was necessary so I have to wait one more day to see my new Tundra wheels on.

Love those wheels! Always been a fan of bronze. I know you said Tundra but are those also the same ones that come on the new 200 series heritage edition?

No problem. They're probably at the top of the places you could do business with all things considered.

IMO, with these vehicles I would rather have a front locker than rear in order to get rid of the factory carrier and factory pinion crush sleeve. Especially if you're not changing your gear ratios. The rear suspension on these can be set up to flex quite well. The front is what it is.

A rear locker is by far more useful in sticky situations than a front, no question about that.
But our trucks typically suffer from front diff failures so a case can be made abt doing the front first.

My truck is still trying my patience. I was about a 100 miles away from home when I heard loud twang from the right front (where I just replaced the OEM cv axle). I was at 80mph on an interstate highway so I pulled over as soon as I could.

The hub was really hot but otherwise everything seemed just fine. Pulled into a parking lot and jacked up the front with factory Jack, which totally sucked on my lifted truck. Anyway, didn't notice any play or any noise upon rotating the wheel.

Then I turned back and about 70 more miles later started hearing grinding noise coming from the right front hub. This time I looked more closely and noticed the axle has pulled about 2 inches out from the knuckle!

Had the truck towed to the nearest shop and took an uber home with my three kids. At least the kids were excited to seethe flashing lights of the tow truck.

I keep dreaming that this steaming pile of hot garbage will be ready for a summer road trip out west this summer but so far it has been a total money pit.

Did you get new clip on the axle sub shaft when you swapped it out?

Thank you! I did look for the LC Heritage wheels but they were pricey (BBS). The ones I got are high gloss black Tundra TRD Pro wheels that I had powder coated bronze.

Do you have before pics? What was tge cost?
My rear quarter panels can use some love like this

The before pics are linked in the quoted post. $500.

really got into for president's day, installed a new t-case that we rebuilt a couple of weeks ago with a part-time kit, 3.1:1 low range gear set and 10% high range under drive gear. All parts and labor provided by Cruiser Outfitters.

Also swapped out a tired ARB awning cover took about an hour with a drill and pop rivet gun. this was a super buy of about $30 from Cruiser Outfitters, pretty sure it is the cheapest ARB product I have been able to purchase.

I pulled out my Drop Stops and arm rests for a couple days when working on the center console and immediately dropped everything down the side of my seat where it's inaccessable and gets wedged deeper and deeper the harder you dig for it. Cell phone, pens, keys, wallets, everything. You have to pull over and search with a flashlight to find them again. Drop Stops are required for vehicles like this with a horrible gap trap IMO. And for $20 it's a no-brainer. I have them on several of my vehicle and have bought them for other people when I was tired of dropping my things down between their seats. They stay put and move with the seat adjustment and you never notice them except for when they stop you from losing your stuff.

I got them here: https://amzn.to/2wuJwtC

Did some inside work, working on the door cards. The area inside the window is getting all faded. I was able to locate the color and respray the top of one window today, then it got windy so had to stop for the day.
This is what most of them look like, one has some damage from the previous owners dog. So I filled the hole with leather/vinyl filler.

This is the one I finished today. Looks and feels brand new!
