You can wire them the way you want. Coolerman sells plugs and color coded wire.

Have you figured the brakes out yet?

I think you’re still drums in the front. The way I do them, adjust all 8 of the shoes snug to the drums (2 per drum) so you can’t or can juuuuuuuuuuuuust barely get the drum to turn. Then check your pedal pushrod and make sure you have a little free play between it and the master cylinder piston, then you know you’re getting full travel and not pushing on it a little. Then I start bleeding the furthest cylinder away not by position on the car but actually follow the brake line and which is the longest. Then bleed as normal. I typically find without the shoes all the way snug to the drum it’s difficult or impossible to get all the air out. Another thing of note, the brakes will feel “different” with the manual 80 series master cylinder. More leg effort but don’t let it make you think it doesn’t have good stopping power. I can lock all 4 up on mine, just takes more leg power.

A side note (this doesn’t help if you’re still the 9mm fittings): I really like the 78(?) and later wheel cylinders because they are hooked up in series and makes them much easier to bleed in my opinion.

I’m front disc rear drum using mini truck calipers, and oem 9mm fittings on the rear.

I haven’t messed with it, I was going to last night but ran out of time before dinner.

Got my wiper pivot freed up and back on. Now I can’t find my wiper switch.

But on a good note I put the new battery in and am one step closer.

Yesterday wired up an aftermarket horn button that’s mounted on the column. It’s actually had one there for who knows how long I just updated to newer.

Tonight. Installed a license plate light I had Latin for around for my trailer build. The oem was rusted solid to the bulb so I’ll update eventually.

Reinstalled the bikini top, obviously it’s not correct without a rear bar but I wanted it on for tomorrow. One of my friends was kind enough to bend me a tube for my rear bar as I don’t have a bender and that’s on the short list to pick up and install.

Tidied up some wiring, tightened the battery cables fully, and tested the lights one last time.

Tomorrow I’m going to drive it to the gym and work so I can get a state inspection for license.

Great first day in the 40. Put about 15 miles on it, filled it with 91 ethanol free and picked up the tube from my buddy. Greased all the fittings, checked a couple fluids.

Only had 3 people call it a Jeep 🙄

It didn’t break down, it has a couple oil leaks popping up, it made me happy. I’d say it’s a win.

Random side profile before the tube install. Someone actually took this while I was swimming and sent it to me, wondering if it was mine.

How do you see anything that’s behind you?

I had someone pass me in a no passing zone today. I was even going the speed limit but I guess they were in a hurry in their Escalade
40’s are tailgate magnets. I have several bumper sticker designs in mind. A couple favorites are:

“Please stop trying to figure out what I had for dinner last night”

And in smaller print, “If you can read this, you’re an A**hole”

Over the last couple days I’ve ordered all the parts for my tire carrier/ cooler carrier build. Still is spendy these days.

I’m hung up on a cooler though. I’m thinking a 20qt and a Jerry can. Which I need to measure, should allow me to run my 45qt fridge in the same basket if I want it. I don’t really need another big cooler, so that’s why I’m thinking smaller.

Also picked up my oem tail lights and brackets today at the local dealer. Those will install soon.

For my 60 I’m debating a slightly different setup so I can carry more fuel. Dilemma I have is that if I’m out long enough to need extra fuel, I probably want the bigger cooler…..
