Disassembled a 2jzgte head over the weekend. Cleaning parts and checking them for fit and function.
At this point, the head and camshafts are not warped.

Notice the duct tape repairs and the associated white glue drips. Desert heat and duct tape make for a sticky mess! I have used duct tape extensively, but for vinyl repair?

I'd like to see a picture of the Supra body sometime, and maybe even a picture under the hood? Or give me a heads up if that one will ever show up to the monthly breakfast meeting and I'll see if I can make it. The Supra was purchased as a true "mechanic's special" disaster. The engine compartment is empty. The exterior has a case of desert mange. The interior has serious vinyl cracks and brittle plastic. Since this is a 4wd Toyota group, I've tried to keep the posts general and applicable to this community's interests. It will be a while, but we have every intention of driving it to a breakfast meeting. We'll let you know!
