The T got a ignition switch repair before Thanksgiving and then went to crank it Sun evening and no go. Think the locksmith missed something in reassembly. urgghh Always something...ready to get past the maint stuff and upgrade a few things. Timing belt and accessories around it should get done before Christmas, maybe BJ spacers and lift shackles after the new year?

I finally got the motor mount changed on the 62. (I got them from 3pits at last years parts swap).

Also got the exhaust quieted down a little. Maybe one day I'll break down annd replace the whole thing.

It should be ready to wheel at URE this weekend

Got the T running! Yes! Locksmith didnt reconnect anything under the dash. Drove it to work today, hoping to get the TB and water pump done in it the next 2 weeks. After that gets done its clutch time.

pulled the rusted out hood off the 62. Replaced with a black bedlinered hood Benny C hooked me up with. Thanks again!

Might be a repeat for those of you who are my Facebook friends, but for everyone else, got the 60 ready for the holidays.

replaced the rear driveshaft ujoint in the 60

started pulling parts off the 62 to replace the transmission and transfer case... going to a 4 speed manual...I am also replacing all the motor seals and gaskets, and at some point I will replace the exhaust, make a bumper and install some sliders...and finish the rear bumper...

Drove the 40 to work yesterday.
It's been a while.
Turned on the CD player to discover
a Christmas CD was in the player.
Truck ran great. It is a Cruiser after all .

You are a bad influence. I've grown fond of
the slab of bondo just in front of the hinge
sticking up and the Dolly Parton imprint
remains at the front edge. I love the memory
of that UNLATCHED bonnet, covered with
two feet of snow slamming into the windshield.
The roof rack Hellas made some impressive
impressions. Tip....A snow covered bonnet
can stay down below about 50 mph.
Then WHAM.
The bondo was a PO addition so needless
to say it has stood the torture and time
well. Ya know old Gundy has NEVER
been out of the elements...ever.
I love the neck whips locals get when
the old boy rolls by.
It's a slippery slope you propose . 'Bout
time to give him some well deserved TLC.

Replaced the: spark plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor button, all hoses and belts, both idler pulleys, water pump and thermostat, and flushed the radiator on the 80....
removed the tail light guards and third row seats, broken steering column cover, PO switches, Ralley lights wiring and relays (one was wired in wrong and was causing a high idle..) removed the cylinder hood lock device, installed the grommet around the ignition switch, started to reattach the window rain cover things but it is too cold for the tape to adhere, adjusted the cruise control wire, accelerator cable and attached the transmission kick-down cable....and a few hoses that were dangling...
The loud screaming whine is gone (pulleys) but I can hear those 24 valves need adjusting and a possible intake leak... but it could just be that it is so quiet I can hear the injectors working


I also replaced some fasteners, and installed some that were missing in the grill and dash...

Installed the Kenwood DNX-7100 HU in the 4runner Everything is a go except the rearview camera. Couldn't find the reverse switch to wire it in. FOund tons of threads about 4th and 5th gen rearview camera installs, but none for a 3rd gen. Kids piled in the 4runner and watched Monsters Inc. while I cleaned out the bed of the T100 of chicken and rabbit cop materials. We plan to get headrest or a drop down monitor for the kiddos to watch on long trips. I'll get the Kenwood X993 into the T100 next weekend.

Took some loose pieces of 1.75" DOM and some .25" plate and broke out the welder. I tried to carry the rear bumper design forward to come up with matching rocker panel protection. Also took the plasma torch to the IPOR skid plate and made it work for the 45 too.

ME too!!!! dropped off the beast to let Marshall debug the fuel injection some more, add rear disc breaks and add some bling to the underside and rear windows of the ugly old rust bucket.

Man I Love that truck.
20 miles of smiles. Got behind an early
restored j**p coming home. Stayed
behind poking along till I turned into my
driveway . Figured I'd let him check out
another Legend.
Now Gundy waits by the Cabin. Ever ready.
