What did you do with your truck this week?

I traded my Corbeau's for 62 seats and of course overseeing the spark plug change in Steve FJC.;) That should actually say stood arround making fun of Steve evertime he dropped something down the side of that V-6. While Marshall played with his code reader. :)

Made some good progress on my m416 this weekend. Got everything on the tub and frame painted and dry-fitted. Now I just need to clean up the wheels and the tail light housings.

What no purple, orange cant be!!:) But it looks good in black and clear. :D

Fixed a leaky CV boot. Didn't feel like installing my spare axle. A CV boot kit is on order just in case I need it.

  • Cleaned the cut well with a sorta clean shop rag and a little brake clean.

  • Roughed up the torn area of the CV boot a bit with some fine grain sandpaper to give the rubber some tooth.

  • Took some black FIPG (form in place gasket - the oil resistant kind) and smeared it over the cut, making sure to push just a bit down into the cut and overlap a little on the left and right edges in the hope the FIPG would bind well to the CV boot.

  • Let it cure overnight.
  • Checked it in the morning (this morning) and all seemed well.
  • Cleaned up the little bit of slung oil so I can check for leaks after a test drive.
  • Drove about 20 minutes this morning and no leaks. WOOOOOT!
  • Put another layer of black FIPG on after the test drive this morning to try and make sure the leak stays sealed. I'll keep y'all posted.

sold the white 1972 fj55, .....used the 8274 to winch her up my gravel driveway, then onto the trailer... the most interesting part of it was when my 40 on 33" tires backed up on a hill, with one wheel chocked, is pulling (the 40 was in gear and e brake on) the 55 up driveway, the 55 is on wide track 33" tires.. it hit a taller chock that was behind the front, now in front of the rear tire... the 40 started to get squirrely and was getting pulled around the one stationary wheel.. seems 55 on hill won...

I think it has lots of goodies VERY worth the price, both tail lights were perfect except the rubber, dash was perfect, springs were fabulous, extra grill parts,

I added a CB to the truck and continue to make progress on the build at ACC. Go in from Tues-Fri this week to finalize the rear bumper design, clean up the small items missed, and to get a light bar installed.

I also bought all the spares from my brother which should be showing up this week.

Should be ready for GMP on the 2nd!
