Scott - ill continue the love and give you my current hood if you want it. It is rust free, but has a couple minor dents that are repairable.

I'll be down your way within the next 30 days or so, or you can pick it up here.

Shoot me a PM if you want it.

Pm sent!

Finished sanding the 2nd coat of build primer last Friday and got it painted with the single-stage PPG that evening. Here is a photo this morning. Will be wet-sanding with 1200 today and polishing.

I got all of the front hoses changed and the new to me radiator(thanks, JP) installed except for the cooling lines. the trans cooler is installed, but I'm not sure where I want to connect the lines. I'll see monday if I can find some connectors that fit.

Tomorrow, I'll flip the rear springs.

I have to give a big SHOUT OUT to Marshal... I got stuck on the side of 85S about 75 miles from home, due to a broken accelerator cable and my first call was to Marshal. He came by mile marker 25 with some cable and stops and I was back on the road in about 10 min. and it is working like a champ.

Thanks again Marshal!
So this week I will be replacing the broken cable with a new one from RHT... $75. And I think the frayed cable was the cause of my "transmission issues" I think it was not allowing the kick down cable to retract correctly. I do know the pedal is much easier to move back and forth...

Yes putting up with Marshall does have it benifits at times :hillbilly:

Very true! One of the most unselfish guys I've ever met. Thanks for all you do Marshall!

Got "stuck" on Ocracoke for about 24 hours when we only intended to go for a few hours. That damn Super Moon and high winds f'd up the ferry route btw Hatteras and Ocracoke and they shut down the ferry route. We had to stay on the island overnight and try again in the morning. The next morning the NCDOT said it was shut down until the Coast Guard could survey it. So our only option was to take the ferry to Cedar Pt and drive 5 hours back to our camp. The ferry to Swan Quarter was booked up. What a long day.

I will say that had we not gotten stuck, we would not have spent the afternoon on one of the best beaches I've seen.

Guess now you'll have to call Steve and get a RTT.

I had my second tent in the truck. We also had our luggage, but we didn't have the big tent, air mattress, or folding table. My body needs an air mattress so sleep was hard to find. Still we had a good time at the bar at Howard's.

Washed the truck and got it cleaned out of kid duty mode in prep for GSMTR.

I woke up to the TRAC lights and a CEL. Bank 2, sensor 1 O2 sensor. Replaced already.

Also go the oil changed, adjusted/bled brakes/ebrake and added first aid and fire extinguisher.

Now I just need to pack my clothes, food, and throw it all in the truck and I am good to go!

Started with 2 gallons of fresh oil
New OEM power steering pump
OEM high pressure line
all other lines replaced with new
plumbed power steering cooler
swapped to road tires
started it up
emptied two gallons of oil in less than 8 sec :whoops:
installed oil filter
purchased 3 bags kitty litter and gallon of degreaser :)
finished with 2 more gallons of fresh oil

turns out these things have a rather robust oil pump, I had left the filter off for access to the ps pump and it was the end of a long day and gettting dark. Didnt even hurry as much as made the mistake of shutting the hood and just forgot. Filter was right there in the battery box...

Plugged in the unhooked vac line that has been giving me pinging. Got a nice new box in with all new leather and door trim for the 80. Cannot wait for a new interior. The old gal deserves it.

I'd inspect the following: lost some chunks of tire lugs, wheel weights, drive shaft, worn out tie rods (inner), front wheel hub bearings. The last two you can check by jacking that wheel off the ground and grabbing the tire - check for excessive movement of the wheel. If you have up/down movement as you push on the tire (push against 12 and 6 o'clock) then it is most likely the hub bearing. If it only moves side to side (pushing against 9 and 3 o'clock) then very likely the tie rod inner ball joints are worn. Another thing to check is the uniballs in your upper A-arms. You need a big ass box wrench to put on the 22mm/7/8" nuts under the ball and another equally big wrench on top of the ball joint assembly.

I'm throwing mine up on the lift after work to do a thorough visual inspection and check on my front hub bearings.
