It isn't too hard to figure out which wires you need to jump to get the window up short term if the switch simply won't work. Before I got my 4runner switch working reliably I just kept a jumper in the truck and had the relevant terminals memorized.

Yeah.. just to make sure it isn't a relay/power source issue try doing the same on another window.Yeah, trying to figure that out now to rule out the Driver's window motor. From what I can tell I'm jumping the correct terminals but it isn't moving so the motor may be bad. Ugh.

It has been a while but now I'm wondering if I actually had to jump 2 sets of wires.. IIRC the motor is dumb and the switch has to tell the motor which direction to go by giving + and - to the relevant poles for up, and switching both sides for down.

If you take out the two springs it will turn off the "auto" light off letting you do the windows up/down without key mod without draining your battery.Driver's window switch finally gave up the ghost. Trying to clean it up and get it working. Any suggestions to clean up the switch?

Were you having problems with the 'noids or just being proactive?A442F transmission shift solenoids and complete ATF fluid flush.
having a problem. wasnt getting the 2-1 downshift when rolling to/from stop signs intermittently. first noticed a year ago pulling into moab and spoke with parts slinger then about it.. put it on the back burner and then was having trouble on my way into rubicon, just after the granite bowl, even with the lever down in L.. idk, seemed weird, and intermittent, could have been my loose center console (fridge) knocking the lever, but I was pretty frustrated and sure I had the lever all the way back.. then happened again after a layover day at buck, and simultaneously lost reverse.. blah blah, a qt of fluid helped a lot and i got through... called Georg and spoke about it, significant majority of issues, especially intermittent ones, are the solenoids, so out with the old and in with the new (i just did the 2 shifting solenoids). fluid exchange cant hurt eitherWere you having problems with the 'noids or just being proactive?
No, never got round to it, I've just been posting stuff as I do it on this thread and a couple of others (diesel performance threads)Rob, do you have a build thread somewhere?
Took the family on a trip down to the central coast for a bit of R&R. A little time on the SUP and kayak. Saw some whales up close and grabbed a few photos (kayakers in the photo not my party)!
