There are two body bolts that secure the lower rear edge of the front fender to the body. Remove the frontmost bolt. Both of those bolts are attached to weldnuts that are in the "floor" of the rocker panel pocket that the sunroof drain tubes exhaust into. That pocket has to fill in order to get water into the rocker panels, so that it can then drain out. One of the two major design failures of the 80 series, IMHO.You wouldn’t happen to have a good location description of those sun roof drain outlets would you? A picture is worth a thousand words.
One of the best things I have done "for my cruiser" was to put a mini-split in the garage. Working in 68-70 degree temps while wrenching on her when it is 110 outside is a godsend! Far less fatigue which leads to better installs as you don't get as tired and frustrated.I took the week off to get ready for a trip to CO in July. I wish I had picked a cooler week instead of jumping on the struggle bus.
New radiator to replace the leaking one installed in 2008.
New fan and fan shroud.
Swapped in a threaded water outflow pipe for a Koso temperature gauge.
Rear heater delete.
New belts.
I still need to tension the belts and fill with coolant. I also need to power up the Koso gauge and do a LOF.
What I was supposed to do this week before discovering a leaking radiator was to wire up new front bumper lights, wire up a new in-cab USB port, install new shocks, install new front door window regulators/motors, and swap out the rear bumper swing out arm struts. I’m pretty knackered, so I’ll pick and choose. My first engine bay job since putting on a bull bar and my back is killing me. I need one of those fancy engine bay creepers. It is a good thing none of those are must-haves.
That is the dream! The heat just wipes you out. Right now I’m in the driveway with a pop up canopy and a fan. I take a break for a couple of hours until the mesquite shade starts to help. The shade is back, so time to add coolant and look for leaks. One of the best things I have done "for my cruiser" was to put a mini-split in the garage. This list you had above was more than a weekends worth of work anyway, unless you can put in 10-12 hour days. My old body just can't hack that anymore...

Thanks for the offer. I think I'm going to DIY one with room for a larger speaker.
I also used a pop up when working on my son's Taco last summer. Through tarps all the way around it and put in a Homes Depot evap cooler on one side. Wasn't the best but it still knocked the temp down to the 80s, only a bit humid. The nice part is the fan is blowing on you which keeps it surprisingly pleasant. https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Hessa...aqpqgZ6n4WFs2i5lN7YlRvt1PsMPljHoaAijnEALw_wcBThat is the dream! Last daughter starts college this fall. I’m hoping to downsize soon to house with either an existing shop or room to build one. There is no doubt a mini-split is part of the plans.
I forgot to add, sweatband, lots of sweatbands.![]()
Dissent front and 4x4 labs rear.Nice bumpers. Who's are those?
Thanks mate! My secret; use it with care, keep it clean and keep it dry. That's the cleanest looking floor I think I've ever eeen. Has that thing been in storage for 30 years?
Return that POS if it's not too late. Things are trash.Wifey needs a new ride. Test drove this baby. Overtrail+. Geezus they’re expensive. But feels as surefooted as a mountain goat just like our 80’s do. Gotta make it work somehow….
And one of my 80 to keep it legal to post.

How/why so? What experience have you had with them?Return that POS if it's not too late. Things are trash.
Just Google it man. My brother has worked for Lexus for 20+ years. He has a GX470 and a GX460. He was looking forward to getting a GX550 until they came out. And oh boy do they have some problems. Alot of big mechanical and electrical issues before even making it half way to their first oil change. Reliability is completely gone with these cars. They had a few for the rod bearing failure, a few with failed water pumps (with just a couple hundred miles on the clock), leaking shocks right off the truck with zero miles, interior gremlins with the electrical). Kinda sad to be witnessing this.How/why so? What experience have you had with them?
So just like any new model vehicle there are gremlins to be worked out. The engine issues sound similar to the Tundra recently. The Tundra also had issues with the turbos as well.
