Found this heat shield cleaning up from the build. Is this above the cats or somewhere usually? Might explain the hot feet

Anyone know off hand?

Installed a new air cleaner hose, cleaned my old air filter and threw a new air filter in the trash. I don’t remember where I got the new air filter because it’s been in my stash for many years. The label for the air filter looks counterfeit. The actual filter looks almost identical to the one that came out except the plastic has a little rougher texture and the lip holding the filter media is a little thicker on the Toyota one. I ordered a new filter from Toyota.

The new air cleaner arrived from Toyota. The part label is printed on the box instead of a sticker like I’ve always seen before. The new filter plastic is rough like the 1st one I suspect of being counterfeit.
The other dealer label is a sticker and appears normal.

What are you opinions on if this is legit or not? Thanks all.

That's a genuine pick tag. The box has traveled through the Toyota distribution system.

I recently ordered an "OEM" cabin air filter for my wife's Subaru Forester off Ebay. It came in a plain carboard box and had a fake Subaru sticker on it. On the sticker it said "Made in China". I sent it back and got a different one.

Budget building this one as much as I can, just got it last week! Oil pressure adapter fix this weekend, and some used front lift springs. Looking for some rears now, 2860 springs, I figure someone’s got some used ones lying around. She’s rough but I’m going for a mild trail rig for me and my boys. My hundred series gets most of my money haha

I don’t do eBay for Toyota parts unless I’m really sure about the seller. Too many fakes.

Max, those are the brightest wheels I've ever seen! Looked great at CruiserFest.
Thanks man! I saw you once or twice and meant to say hi but I didn't want to interrupt your conversations.

I’ve had this little jackery for about 5 years and have used it about 3 times, never had a reason. Bought a $120 Temu fridge cooler, cheap enough to test the waters on wether or not I’m a “fridge cooler guy” taking the 80 on my sons class camping trip up near Olympia, WA, if you see me on I-5 today, honk and wave! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

Are those the bahia blue Method wheels? Discount has some crazy discounts on the 305 series, $150 ea for 17x8.5.

I kind of like these, the finish is not glossy looks more of a matte finish.

These are $271 ea in 17x8.5 0 offset.

But for $150 I really can't complain. Either might look good on the 80 since I plan on raptor lining it in white.

They are the Bahia blue, they’re the exact ones you posted in the bottom pic with the kind of satin finish. Imo satin is a great look for wheels.ive got satin black Mickey Thompson wheels on my Tacoma and they’re great looking wheels. These are my first set of method, so far I love the look, haven’t tested the bead grip much yet.

Okay, they look really good on your rig. When I was Overland Expo West the guys at Method's booth told me how bead grip works. They aren't a favorite with tire installers when taking off the old tires, just shows the bead grip is doing it's job.

Awesome, that’s my hope. I bought this to build out as a trail rig. It’s been a bit challenging due to some hidden issues and some diy suspension setups, but damn I love this thing. Like an idiot I did buy the wheels and tires before anything else, but it had 37’s on it before. Its first real “shakedown” is gonna be with cascade cruisers “cruisin’ the woods” event at the end of the month. Crossing my fingers 😬 for no catastrophic failures

Picked up some goodies. Slowly building motivation for an engine swap. Going to pull the valve cover and check valve clearances. Engine has 12k miles on it, new short block, head, valves, springs and cams but kept the same buckets. It always had a slight valve tap which was annoying and the machine shop that built the head is down the street from me so I’m going to borrow some tools from him and if needed order new shims for the buckets.

Was looking at Method's website and they say those wheels do not fit the LC. Did you have to massage the center bore of the wheel to get it to fit? It is listed at 106.25 other wheels that Method say fit are 108.
