A few weekends ago....road trip from Owens Valley to Death Valley via Mazourka Canyon, Papoose Flat, Eureka Valley, Dedeckera Canyon....super impressed with the 4WD, used all 3 lockers climbing over the pass to Papoose, pulling an M416, with the 18 month old sleeping in the back, and my wife just a little nervous. There are some really steep/loose sections in there, and some really tight switchbacks. No wheel slippage at all. I was thankful for the lockers and the tight turning radius! My old 4runner (1988) would have had trouble. Climbing the steps in Dedeckera was no problem (sans trailer). Little boy LOVED getting buzzed by F16s and kept asking for more!

The chocks are actually a set I bought after seeing them in a standard Land Rover kit. Found the part number and just ordered them from a Land Rover site. I found out later that Toyota actually makes (made) a version but I have never been able to find the part number and SOR didn't have any. I use mine all the time and when folded up its barely bigger than a deck of cards.

They look pretty much exactly like the ones in my OEM toolbag in my 81.

have almost the same ..... left overs from my previous VW Touareg...love how these 'fancy' cars come with all these add-ons....as if you could actually fix anything except a flat without having a laptop and 17 different software in.

Thanks for the report on the pass to Papoose flat. I turned around at that point last time and I always wanted to go back.

Pictures???

Added some LED ambient lights under the hood for working on things in the evening....very nice lighting. And while I had the nice camera out I took another poser shot of the rock lights..:flipoff2:

Eureka Dunes Evening Primrose. 4 years ago we were stoked to find one in bloom; this year they were everywhere and some were huge!

I like your setup man; what suspension are you running?

Got these all wired up, and install job is complete. Welcome to the land of the locked!

Cheers...!! 2.5 inches of lift with Diorama springs and Rancho 9000 shocks. Most of the lift is provided by 4 inch metal spacers. Great setup for the light wheeling I do.

Haha, I guess I could have looked at your sig line  Do you have any pics (or link to a build thread) of the set up? What info do you have on the 4" spacers; were they custom?

Haha...sorry about that.. Ya, that's about the extent I know about the build as this is the way the PO had it set up and he didn't know anything about the components he had installed. I myself have been trying to piece together what all has been done and using what parts. At first I wasn't keen on that big of a spacer but the current combination makes for a nice solid ride, a good amount of lift and reasonably priced if you aren't wheeling hard or carrying a lot of gear. I am thinking of going with a set of custom made springs and doing away with the spacers but my truck fund just got massacred with a massive vet bill... I will get out and take a few pics..
