Finally got around to installing my 4x4 Labs bumper and winch I picked up last fall. It is replacing the old factory bumper and badlands 12k winch set up. I was surprised that difference in weight between them was within 5 lbs of each other (I used synthetic rope on the new winch).

Only one complaint on the Labs bumper. I wish the punched holes in the lower skid lined up with the mounting holes for the winch above. What a pain. Still not happy with the mount as I could not torque down the two front mounting bolts the way I would like. Used a crow foot but started rounding the bolts and backed off.

What’s the plan for the old bumper?

Will be selling it the first opportunity I can. I have been slammed with work for the last year and taking any time off to do something like this kills me. Yes, I work 7 days a week...

I don’t like the idea of driving around town with 1000 pounds of armor on my truck, (I’m in Austin and have to drive a ways to wheel) so I pulled it all off. Then I didn’t like having the front end naked.

I’ve had something like this in mind since I decided not to throw away the post from my son’s unused basketball goal. Took about three hours of cutting and welding. It looks goofy as hell. Posting for a good laugh.

I'm wondering if narrowing it will improve the look, or if I should add something to it. I guess I should just put my winch bumper back on. It was an interesting little project.

bought a chunk o'cruiser from a fellow in the classifieds. He nicely cut off the bottom corner of a red wagon and mailed it. I cut out just what was needed. If you remeber selling me one it is getting used now.
