They do hand out as many tickets as possible, but due to budget cuts, there is only one law enforcement officer for the whole Mesa district! Cant be everywhere at once.

And I understand that. Guarantee if they sat over there at Sycamore Creek they would make their money.

Eh all shooters are pigs, all off-roaders are rednecks, all hikers are tree hugging hippies and all bikers are spandex clad Nancy boys. Glad we have figured that out. :flipoff2:

*I have done all of these things, and you still hear people throwing the claims around.

Installed roof rack, t-case armor from Slee, and single-handedly installed winch on installed ARB front bumper.

Who is "they"? There is truly no "they" there, the agencies are a fraction of what they were. The LEO for Mesa is Robin, good, passionate person, very capable, but has way more responsibilities than any one person can do. This is why they are forced to partner with recreation and other groups to get things done. This opportunity has been fun, have done some great things, but exposes the truly ugly problems.

Agree, this is not the place, feel free to call or stop by.

Quoted for truth. I too have dabbled in all of these activities, and I can say there is an element of truth in each of these statements. Especially the redneck part :hillbilly:

When I was a kid, I would haul crap into the woods to destroy. Some of the areas where I did that have since been closed to recreation and I know I am responsible for that. There are many things I did in my teens and early twenties where I wish I could get in a time machine, go back and kick my own ass :o

Guilty as charged on all acoounts! :hillbilly:

Went to the Copperstate 4 Wheeler's, Four Peaks Cleanup. OHV cleaning up after shooters, again. Good turnout from all of the TRAL groups, Phoenix, Payson and Globe. We were assigned to work some of the more remote, dispersed sites.

The new list of targets law has helped, but shooting spots have proliferated, often small and widely spread, making the job of finding and cleaning much more challenging. This one included 2 shot up toilets, nice!

Four dumpsters today, lots of trigger trash!

It's sad to see all the trash left out in the desert. I live on the utah/arizona border and we have the exact same problem on both sides. There are piles of trash everywhere getting shot up. But, I don't think the problem is to blame the shooting community. At least in my area 90 percent of the trash on public land was dumped there by people without legal identification that can't legally use the landfill. Also there are loads of landscaping trash dumped with all the other trash. It is a problem of lazy low life contractors and landscapers dumping trash on public land instead of paying to use a landfill. Then the shooters take advantage of the trash and use it as targets. Just my .02 cents

I travel a lot in the SW and I hate to admit it but my home state of Arizona is by far the worst for trash and trail vandalism. :(

It really is a shame, think of how much money the blm wasted on the whole Bundy cattle ordeal a few years ago. They could have hired ten Leo's to help crackdown on the issues of trash and vandalism.

On another note I got to go out on a quick overnight trip with the pooch this weekend.

Sadly its more State Forest land here with low funding.
