After almost 2 yrs of searching, I finally landed this -- an LX450. I named her "Berky" partly because of where she's from (Berkeley, CA) and simply because she demands a portion of the paycheck deposited in her (Berkshire Hathaway). Some sort of "investment" so to speak.

She's bone stock, no nasty offroad experience with a scratch-free belly. The underside was actually full of webs and leaves. Previous owner pretty much wanted to clear out some 'old unused stuff' at their place and the truck just couldn't make the cut and had to find a new home. Oh well, one man's poison is another man's meat. '97 LX450 190K miles, only 10K miles put on it in the last 10 years. AC was disfunctional, No rust except on the 3rd row seats which were probably out in the elements, no HG leaks, afew recently done maintance - radiator and distributor.

Anyway, for its price, being wayyyyy below market value, it was a no-brainer. Made the deal happen and the truck found a new home in sunny San Diego from the bay area.

Despite having a 100, I've always had a soft-spot for the mighty-80. Getting rid of the built 100 wasn't something I wanted to even consider and if I could keep them both I would rather have done so. Anyway, I will be keeping them both and they will probably have slightly different roles.

Looking forward to building the old gal. Might just consider a build thread.

First things out/deleted (for sale/give away -- [running boards , 3rd row seats , spare tire & holder, factory hitch ], and dirt from the seat cracks

GTFO the city for a long weekend in the South San Juans. Plenty of people up there in hunt camps, but my wife and our dogs and I had the run of the place, at least as far as fly-fishing goes.

We saw moose in two different drainages - the first day it was one cow and one calf, and the second day another cow and two calves! I ended up catching what I think are all the trout species in the San Juans - rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat - and my wife and I doubled up with hooked fish two different times in the same beaver pond. We ran into one very cool, built 1st generation Tacoma and one awesome old 60 in our travels - truck was flawless and sunsets were pushing 9s on a 10-point scale. nice score bud.

Loaded up the family and all the gear and headed out to Yosemite for some camping with good friends.

First time loading up the Slinky heavy springs and they were awesome. The Cruiser rode like a Caddy and the body movement was much more controlled compared to the old OME set up I had.

I got 440 miles from one fill up with the aux. tank, which got me from Santa Clara to Yosemite and back, with a side trip to glacier point.

Wellll fair point

You’re already well on your way. An arctic truck build would be cool, although probably not the most rock crawling of builds for around here...

Just got back from Iceland last night--I think I saw that same dark 80 with the silver bullbar out by the jokusarlon lagoon outlet. I got a lot of truck pics, but only 1 80. Patrols seem a lot more popular out there. And EVERYBODY runs Mickey Thompson 46's apparently.
Mine were only 35's but I was suprised how much I really liked my Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC's. They were really quite good, especially in soft terrain so no suprise that they're popular in Iceland for snow.

1994 130k triple Locked. Never seen winter. Runs like new. Interior looks like new. Garages every winter (snowbirds). He asked me what it’s worth. I told him “to me it’s worth $5k”. He said “I’ve been meaning to sell it. Let me sleep on it.” I will be praying to @cruiserdan tonight.
