How's the length? Does it interfere with the middle seats folding down?
I don't think it would interfere but I haven't tried. I only have one seat in the back and that's where the baby seat lives. There are other write-ups about this mod so maybe someone else has tried. I think it would clear.

Land Cruiser #1, New fuel injectors, brakes bleeding, front wheel bearing adjusted. Land Cruiser #2, attempted alternator install, to be continued Monday...

While installing a new modified fan clutch on Friday, I slipped and broke off the damn bypass radiator nipple (after successfully avoiding it for years) :bang:. 20 miles from home, I plugged the hole in the radiator with a sheet metal screw and teflon tape, and used a cut-off bolt to plug the line. Made it home no problems at normal temps.

My parts rig had a "newish" radiator (according to the PO) that looked OK and, importantly, had an unbroken nipple :). I soaked the internals in vinegar for a few hours yesterday (outside the truck), flushed it, and installed it this AM. Seems to be holding fine and my temps are normal. I did order a new Denso radiator from RockAuto that I will just put on the shelf in case this one craps out.

Two tricks that I learned on MUD made the job easier...

1. I cut an access hole in the bottom of the battery box to easily remove the lower DS radiator anchor bolt without having to remove the battery and battery box. The main impetus for this is I HATE having to reprogram my head unit after the power is cut :).

2. I used a Lisle Spill-Free Funnel to fill and bleed the cooling system. It has an adapter to fit our radiators and makes the job no mess. Fill the radiator up initially, start the truck, and once it comes up to operating temp, top off the funnel and it continues to bleed bubbles out and put new coolant in. I let it run for 20 minutes or so and it appears all the air is out.

Changed out the silicone mess. Tightened the breeze clamps to 90 in-lbs. according to reference. :meh:

Well she finally gave up on me. Been putting off engine swap but its time. Cracked cylinder head.

Nice score at ~$100 shipped lockable with cup holders that look like they will work

I like it but the cup holders aren't the best design. The little adjustable arm is weak and limited in how many positions it holds. The center line between the two holders is open so if you take a turn and only on is occupied it will tip over. I think I'll come up with something to divide the middle and support the cup/can/etc all the way around and it should be fine.

:hmm:

Started on my own tailgate storage lid. Will hopefully wrap it up by next weekend.

Getting ready to order the OEM tokico shocks, do they come with all bushings needed? I'll probably find some new lower rear bolts too.

Nevermind, just read that they do.

Curious what you come up with. This is fairly high on my list but I can't justify dropping the kind of dough it takes to buy one of the options on the market. I was thinking of simply hinging the forward edge of a sheet just like you have, adding some type of sealing gasket, adding a flush latch and call it a day.

Not @joez but I was thinking about doing something similar to this DIY.

I decided on just one door, but by the time I am done I should be in it about $215, and that's using 1/4" 3003 aluminum plate, full piano hinge, and two marine latches. I am just not looking forward to cutting the door out of the plate.

Went wheeling with a buddy youtuber called IAMJAKE and the Bearded jeeper class6 in NH and we did a food drive for the town the kings, dobinson and superior engineering with land tank, whiteline all working together perfectly or as close as Im getting.

Finally got to do some wheeling again with my 80 at the Tall corn cruiser classic here in Iowa. Had a great time with some awesome people. I was hoping to have my Fj60 ready since it's a beat up trail rig, but I didn't have time so my 80 took another beating. Just casually strolling through a wooded trail and apparently a random tree decided to be an a-hole:mad:.
Language warning* Good thing it was being filmed from behind because I definitely had some choice words. Skip to about 30seconds in if you have ADD

I replaced some very tired non-oem belts with oem ones. What a difference! Thanks to IdahoDoug for the great write up on how to do this. It was my first time doing the belts on the 80 and all went well.
