acid cleaned the rims with Alumi-bright, and used a harbor freight buffer to find out how thin the paint on my 80 is, ....it's thin, ehem.

Got stereo install (and Hellas) completed and then the Croozer ably served as support vehicle for Lemons race at Sears Point, bike in foreground is Kawasaki ZX-something something (buddy reviews new bikes), with 140hp at the rear wheel, which is apparently an entry-level ride these days. Lemons car ran as high as 16th overall out of 170+ entries, I was P21 on Sunday with 2 hours to go and got rear-ended in turn 11 which basically ended our weekend. It was fun, tho. And the concussion was mild.

What did you use for your lemons car?

I need to know more about this. What kind of acid? Any special process? I need to paint my wheels, and this looks like a great prep step.
Should edit my post above, I used Alumi-bright, but looking up the data sheet last night showed it is not an acid, supposedly safer, but basically no data on it bc of "trade secret". I read the instructions carefully, you need to wear ppe, and only leave it on the rim for 30 seconds, rinse like crazy, and follow all instructions, especially when it comes to alloy of the rim, if there are any coatings on the rim, and of course ppe. It is very strong and I am sure if not used properly you can ruin your rims, and cause physical harm to yourself or any other living things. However, I am really happy with the product as normal cleaning was not doing it.

Pics of lemons car! @Bill F
@Heckraiser Here are a couple from Buttonwillow last summer. It is my buddy Jesse's truck - Chevy S10 with an all-iron 283 from Jesse's grandma's '67 Impala. It started with a Powerglide, then had a Muncie and now has a nice 5 speed, and keeps getting quicker. My teammate ran a high 2:04 and I ran a 2:06 at Sears Point with the bus stop. As you probably know, each Lemons team needs to have a theme/shtick, and ours is an 80's mini-truck throwback, with big audio system in the bed (2-15" woofers), and we go around the track blasting old-school hip hop. Our team name is License to ILL. Lotsa fun! :)

The colors, the shock wave graphics. You nailed it!

got rid of the rear spoiler...no welding. just put the screws back in and touched up the paint around it...and installed my cobra 75 cb with yodateq mount.

Finally have a few spare hours this weekend. I feel like if I post that I am going to do this, then it will finally happen. So here goes, all of this is going in: VC120 charcoal canister, air filter, land tank modified blue hub fan clutch (thanks @NLXTACY ), new starter, new headlights, fusible link and an oil change with oem filter and chevron delo.
