Like your set up fast, simple, and light.

80 Series 3FE Radiator Hose Kit

80 Series 3FE Complete Belt Kit

Joey aka @NLXTACY finally came to his senses. "Dude, I just had to. I have guys asking me for these maintenance items because the 3FE just won't die. It really is the best petrol motor the Land Cruiser has ever seen!"

Or something like that...

Actually it was nothing like that. :flipoff2:

People have become desperate because their s***ty 3FEs need constant upkeep. And when you think desperate, you think Wits' End :flipoff2:

To be clear both the front and back replacement Polk speakers fit behind the factory grill both front and back?
Yes the new db+ is even shorter in depth than the older db's . In the front you need to add a ring to fill in the space where they bent the metal in around the original speaker . If you click on my photo it will take you to my f photo flickr if you click on the back arrow next to the photos you can see all the photos I took and how it fits with the ring spacer . In the back there is a plastic piece that holds the grill on . The speaker fits in at plastic piece . The original speaker is held in the plastic piece with a single screw in the middle of the back of the speaker . All you have to do is cut the very back plate that the screw went through because the new db+ is just a little longer so once the back plate is cut out the new db+ will fit in perfect There is photos of that too on flickr . On the back you don't even have to take the panel off. You just unsnap the bottom half pull the plastic back enough to unplug the wire . the speaker and plastic piece will come out with 3 screw its all inside the cut out of the panel . If the wire connection wasn't so far away from the speaker hole you wouldn't even have to unsnap anything but the connection is down at the opening in the bottom front corner .It took me about 3 minutes and the old speaker and plastic piece was out . Cutting the plastic piece was pretty easy also . Here is what the plastic piece will look like once its cut . IMG_2108 by myridevlx600, on Flickr, You have to cut one of the plastic arms all the way off to make room for the capacitor . You can see it in this photo . IMG_2110 by myridevlx600, on Flickr . When thats out of the way the speaker drops right in . I just bent 2 of the tabs over ans driled a small hoe in the tab and the plastic piece to hold it in place . If you watch texasknowhow's youtube video He just used silicone caulking to hole it in place . Texasknowhow mademe the rings for the front and they fit perfect he has it down pat and is making them for people . There is his video . He used the older db speakers that have a different look and size so he had to do a 2 ring system to give the speaker but with the new one you only need one ring and the panel and grill fits over the speaker . On the back speaker he had to cut the arms out of the plastic piece because the older db's had a bigger magnet the new ones fit right in and the arms help hold the new speakers in place .

?

Should we add "chrome straightening" to the list of routine maintenance?

Maybe add roof rack alignment, or wind deflector polishing? Wiper blade synchronizing? Radiator blueprinting?

I suppose once you're down to "chrome straightening" the rest of your truck is done. Good work! :flipoff2:

:D I had recently used the front bumper to clear a trail through the mountains, there was some damage from rocks (read small boulders), so beat the dents out, could not get chrome trim anytime soon, so some straigtening and 'no nails' was used to put it back on.

Re synching the wipers, where have you been? I done that last week! :flipoff2:

Great photos

We spent a week camping in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on Lake Superior. This is our favorite camping spot in the UP. One of the few places I've been where you can have woods full of pine trees that go right up to the sand leading to Lake Superior. Also, fires are legal on beach, because it's not an official campground...yet.
Toured the Keweenaw Peninsula all the way out to High Rock Bay, which is the furthest tip of the UP. Found some waterfalls throughout the U.P. to hike as well...oh, and ate smores every night by the fire on the beach.

Great pics. Looks like fun. Is that just north of Big Eric's bridge in the Huron Mts? I'm sure there is more than one spot like that, but I found one up there too.
